Who says you have to be a celebrity to be treated like one? Well, in real life, to experience that celebrated lifestyle of the rich and the famous you usually do actually have to be rich and famous. However, Las Vegas is certainly not real life and at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, it doesn’t matter if you’re the star of a box office hit or a no-name chorus member in a Broadway wannabe flop, you will be treated as an A-lister.Shining in the spotlight of the Las Vegas Strip, Planet Hollywood boasts gourmet restaurants, world-class shopping and headline-generating entertainment giving hotel guests a famous experience with everything but a mob of paparazzi.Rebuilt from the ground up in 1998, the former Aladdin now Planet Hollywood has evolved with the times. Once so chic that Elvis and Priscilla Presley got hitched in the hotel, and still hot enough today for celebrities to make regular appearances just for the sake of hanging out.Though infused with a taste of Hollywood culture, the vibe at Planet Hollywood is intended to be welcoming and unpretentious. Who knows, you might even find yourself sitting down to play blackjack next to Jack Black or Poker with Lady Gaga… OK, that was a terrible “Poker Face” joke.Adorned with film memorabilia showcased in custom-designed cabinetry, every element of the hotel takes on a star-studded theme. The 12,800-square-foot lobby at Planet Hollywood has eight chandeliers -- each composed of 66,000 individually hand-strung crystals -- black granite floors, textured glass walls, and large columns that all beckon guests to the check-in desk, where bands of LED lights continuously change color. Since gaming is usually more fun than checking in, an escalator from the lobby (which is below street level) whisks guests up into the 100,000-square-foot casino that is seemingly in constant motion with glowing rectangular light fixtures that dance through a series of party-starting colors. Here you will find a sea of slot machines, 87 game tables, an expansive race and sports book, and a secluded poker room are ready for you to stop by and try your luck.If all of the gaming strikes up an appetite, take your winnings and grab a bite to eat at one of Planet Hollywood’s many restaurants. For those with a big appetite, head to the Spice Market Buffet or choose from the large menu at the 24-hour coffee shop Planet Dailies. Upstairs on the mezzanine level, Strip House redefines the traditional steakhouse with an innovative menu in a sexy, vintage atmosphere, while Koi, a well-recognized L.A. restaurant and lounge, combines the exotic Far Eastern aura with the energy and style of Hollywood. Celebrate L.A. street food with a stop at Pink's Hot Dogs. Their location here is the only spot outside of Hollywood where you can enjoy their famous hot dogs. On the casino level, Earl of Sandwich makes sandwich eating a gourmet treat and the festive cantina Yolos provides a modern tribute to Mexican culture. And not to forget, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has created Gordon Ramsay BurGR – a burger joint that takes the traditional burger to a new level... a Vegas level!Planet Hollywood's Strip entrances are eye-catching with escalators and stairs leading people off the Strip and into the property and there is also a clear entrance to the attached Miracle Mile Shops, which is owned separately from the hotel. Home to more than 170 stores and 15 restaurants shoppers are sure to find something for every discerning taste. However, for those looking to stay on the Planet Hollywood property, there are a lot of other entertainment opportunities within the resort. As expected in Hollywood, Planet Hollywood is packed with mega entertainment including pop icon Britney Spears, who is starring in "Britney: Piece of Me." Staged in The Axis, a state-of-the-art theater, this is one of the largest indoor immersive productions in the world. Additionally the hilarious ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his troupe of witty sidekicks are headlining Dunham’s latest show, “Not Playing with a Full Deck” in the PH Showroom.Center stage in the casino of Planet Hollywood is a circular hot spot called the Heart Bar, a place to hang out with the beautiful people while sipping on drinks served by cocktail waitresses in black leather go-go attire. Guests can grab their 15 minutes of fame at the Extra Lounge, the new Las Vegas headquarters for the correspondents and crew of television's "Extra;” Located near the hotel's front entrance, this 24-hour bar is the perfect spot to see who's coming and going. For a tranquil retreat from the flurry of shoppers, concert goers and gamblers, the Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara offers relaxing body therapies from around the world, as well as saunas and steam rooms for your therapeutic pleasure. And for a little sun therapy, the seasonal Pleasure Pool is the place to be. With celebrity-quality treatments and superior services, the spa will truly leave you feeling like a movie star.

We stayed in the south tower on the 9th floor. The room was dark due to only one window. The staff is not very helpful. The hallways have an odor to them. It's time for some updating to the hotel. Don't stay in the basic room, make sure you upgrade. The upgraded rooms are alot better. The casino is good. There is better places to stay. The mall that is attached to the hotel is very nice.

You could argue about which is the largest hotel in Vegas -- but in our minds, MGM Grand sure feels like it.This resort, which sits near the south end of the Las Vegas Strip at the busy intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, is so big it's like a small city. When you check in, you'll want to ask for a map so you can find your way around. It's that ginormous! Here's a number to further illustrate our point: 6,852. That's how many rooms there are at MGM Grand and its collection of related properties -- The Mansion, Skylofts and The Signature.MGM Grand is easy to identify thanks to the huge gold-colored statue of a lion that watches over the front entrance. Towering 45 feet and weighing 100,000 pounds, it sits on top of a pedestal that's framed by LED screens and fountains.Packing a powerful entertainment lineup, you'll have a roaring good time at MGM Grand. The Grand Garden Arena hosts concerts (see everyone from major recording artists like Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga to legends such as Andrea Bocelli, Bette Midler and Barry Manilow), championship boxing and UFC matches, award shows and much more.MGM Grand is also home to the Cirque du Soleil production "KÀ." With some of the most sophisticated stage mechanics imaginable (say these two words with us now: "vertical stage"), this show is a visual wonder. It's comprised of acrobatic feats, martial arts and other cool tricks that we guarantee will amaze you. Plus, the plot about twins being separated by adversity and then finding their way to back to each other is pretty moving too.And Brad Garrett's Comedy Club features a rotating lineup of comedians (that often includes Garrett himself) who will have you doubled over in fits of laughter. In addition, MGM Grand is a partier's dream. Nightclubs and bars are tucked away in almost every corner of the resort. So let's get right down to it, shall we?Just inside the resort's front entrance is where you'll find a line forming to go into the hottest spot in town -- Hakkasan Las Vegas. Seriously, while other clubs claim to sizzle, they really fizzle in comparison to this one. Hordes of club goers come to Hakkasan, where they burn up the main dance floor while listening to the biggest DJs on the EDM scene.Near the center of the casino, you'll discover Beacher's Madhouse. Pushing the boundaries of entertainment and fantasy, it offers a show/club atmosphere with a circus-like energy. Expect to see lots of little people everywhere -- from tending bar to being shot through the air from a canon -- as well as other odd characters, like a quasi-Elmo who runs around dancing with everyone.Among the places to drink, check out MGM Grand's Lobby Bar and center bar, called Centrifuge, as well as Rouge, West Wing Bar and Whiskey Down. Tap Sports Bar has more than 48 draft beers -- plus, you can peruse sports memorabilia and watch games on 60-inch HD TVs.Eating at MGM Grand is like nowhere else, again because of its enormous size. There is literally something for every taste here.Devour what's considered the finest food in the world at Joël Robuchon. This is the namesake restaurant of the legendary chef who has received numerous awards (including enough stars to light the sky at night). His French cuisine creations are truly works of art. Next door, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon offers a similarly divine menu, but in a slightly less formal atmosphere. At Craftsteak, Tom Colicchio has the preparation of steaks, chops and seafood down to a science. Michael Mina Pub 1842 provides a distinctive take on classic pub fare. You can savor in the richness of Creole cuisine at Emeril's New Orleans Fish House. Another imaginative menu -- with items like wood-fired pizza as well as pasta and grilled fish -- is available in Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Crush has a cool cosmopolitan shared-plate atmosphere. And then there's The Grand Wok and Sushi Bar, Fiamma Trattoria & Bar, Shibuya...and the list of fabulous, gourmet-caliber restaurants goes on and on.Casual meals are available at MGM Grand too. With its animatronic critters, the jungle-themed Rainforest Café provides a wild time for all ages. Hecho en Vegas prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine. If you're extremely hungry, head to the MGM Grand Buffet, which dishes up more than 30 different entrées, pastas, casseroles and fresh veggies. Quick bites are available at the MGM Grand Food Court, Avenue Café and Project Pie. Or grab a decadent treat at Blizz Frozen Yogurt & Desserts, Corner Cakes and the Sugar Factory retail store. For fun in sun, there's the Grand Pool Complex. Along with five swimming pools and waterfalls, you'll love the 1,000-foot-long lazy river. And summertime always brings steamy temptation courtesy of Wet Republic. This chic pool club is the daytime alter ego of Hakkasan.Want to bring out your best self in Vegas? Stop by the Grand Spa and Cristophe Salon for a bit of pampering. If you love the TV show "CSI," don't miss CSI: The Experience. It lets you jump into the role of a crime scene investigator and piece together evidence in order to solve one of three mysteries. We could continue describing even more amenities at MGM Grand...like the race and sports book or all the great places to shop. But, well, what's the point? This resort has everything and then some. You just need to come and stay here for yourself. Soon.
