Originally built to resemble a riverboat -- minus the river! -- Harrah's Las Vegas is anchored in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. This lively resort opened as the Holiday Inn Casino in 1973. Having nurtured that fun-lovin' spirit over the years, Harrah's boasts a rambunctious, reckless energy that is sure to win over the young and young-at-heart.The resort is known as the home of Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. Named for one of the country superstar's hit singles, this place is full of rollicking good times with lots to drink, live music, dancing and big portions of home-style food – like the fried bologna sandwich.Speaking of food, you'll find fresh seafood at the Oyster Bar at Harrah's. It specializes in a variety of appetizers, oysters, fish tacos and grilled lobster tail. And KGB: Kerry's Gourmet Burgers features the culinary genius of Kerry Simon in a funky atmosphere suggestive of Russia. Plus, Ruth's Chris Steak House has unparalleled views of the Strip and signature cuts of USDA Prime steak, broiled in an 1,800-degree oven.Want a quick bite? Flavors, The Buffet serves breakfast, lunch and dinner via a scrumptious array of cooking stations -- and it has a never-ending supply of crab legs! The 24-hour Fulton Street Food Hall also offers a variety of options -- ranging from indulgent bakery-fresh pastries to homemade soups, artisanal sandwiches, made-to-order sushi and seven different types of pizzas. And you can always grab a cool and delicious ice cream concoction at Icepan.Entertainment is always on the menu at Harrah's as well. Since 2000, magician Mac King has been mystifying and cracking up audiences of all ages in the afternoons. If you'd prefer to be keeled over in laughter in the evenings, get tickets to the Improv Comedy Club or "Defending the Caveman," a hilarious one-man play that originated on Broadway. And "Million Dollar Quartet," the hit Broadway musical, tells about how four rock 'n' roll pioneers (Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley) came together one magical night. In addition, music and drinks can be found at several of the resort's bars. Creative cocktails are poured by the world's top flair bartenders at the outdoor Carnaval Court. Indoors you'll discover the Piano Bar, which showcases TJ's Karaoke Party and the Twins Dueling Pianos.Gaming seems to stretch into every nook and cranny of the property. As part of its nearly 87,000-square-foot casino, you'll come across such spots as the "Poker Place," where every type of video poker machine imaginable is housed, and Toby Keith's I Love This Party Pit, which brings the whiskey-themed debauchery of his bar and grill downstairs.Harrah's has a lovely Olympic-sized outdoor swimming pool, replete with cabanas and comfortable lounge chairs. Other amenities include a fitness center, The Spa at Harrah's (known for its aromatherapy treatments and Swedish massages), a beauty salon and plenty of shopping -- ranging from logo merchandise to jewelry, purses and leisure apparel. Plus, the resort is home to a Las Vegas Monorail station and provides free shuttles to the Rio.Harrah's 2,526 rooms and suites are located in two adjacent 22- and 35-story towers. They feature views of the Strip, mountains, pool or city. Rooms include blackout drapes, pay-per-view movies, an iron and ironing board, a minibar and a hair dryer. There are special floors for non-smoking guests.Offering exciting gaming, exceptional dining, and a party-like atmosphere -- as well as easy access to the action-packed Strip -- Harrah's is the perfect place to get away from everyday life.

Hotel check in staff could have been better. Gave no information on anything. The monorail is behind the hotel, I don't recommend it leaves you to far from anything. The bus is great leaves you at perfect location.

Although it may seem preposterous, some hotels in Las Vegas are geared to kids -- like Circus Circus, which is located at the northern end of the Strip. Book a room here and the whole family will be able to embark on a flight of fancy.Start your adventure at The Adventuredome, a five-acre theme park situated beneath a climate-controlled dome covered with pink glass. It contains at least 25 unique rides. The brave at heart can hop on the Canyon Blaster, a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster. The younger set is sure to enjoy Miner Mike, a runaway coal train, or the Thunderbirds, a squadron of not-so-high-flying 1920s-style airplanes. Plus, several virtual reality film rides are broadcast in the FX Theatre, including "SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D" and "Happy Feet: Mumble's Wild Ride 4-D," for all ages. The Adventuredome has recently added a new roller coaster -- El Loco. After a 90-foot ascent, the 72-second ride offers negative G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists.Parents looking for more adult-oriented pastimes can play slots in the nearby Skyrise Casino or head downstairs to the main casino floor, where there is race and sports book, more than 40 table games (note: free lessons in poker, blackjack, roulette and craps are offered daily) and more than 1,500 of the latest slot and video poker machines.Ironically, situated above is the famed Circus Circus Midway, where you can win stuffed animals and other toys by trying your luck at one of more than 200 popular carnival games. In the center of all the action is the Midway Stage, home to free live circus acts featuring performers from around the world. Shows run every half hour from early afternoon until late at night. You'll actually encounter clownin' around everywhere on the property. Since opening in 1968, Circus Circus has presented roving clowns and other beloved circus acts not only on stages in the Midway and The Adventuredome, but also wandering the floor space throughout both facilities -- this includes the lobby, the shopping promenade and other gathering spots. Clowns are like ambassadors at Circus Circus. In addition to their merrymaking, they answer questions, give directions and make any waits in line pass by enjoyably. When it's time to eat, you'll find something for everyone at this resort -- from quick snacks to full-service restaurants and the massive Circus Buffet. The gourmet dining room, THE Steak House, has long been acclaimed for its perfectly prepared prime cuts of meat cooked on a mesquite charcoal broiler. The Garden Grill serves a menu of American favorites, and the Pizzeria is a whimsical spot for freshly baked pizza with an array of tempting toppings. Pick up a sweet treat at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, an overstuffed sandwich at the Westside Deli or a bagel and a cup of joe at Barista. And don't miss the most enchanting eatery on the premises -- a snack bar in the Midway designed to resemble a carousel. It rotates high above the casino floor -- and the gelato is simply divine!Rock 'n' roll legend Vince Neil has opened two party-oriented venues at Circus Circus. Vince Neil's Tatuado Eat-Drink-Party! has a mouth-watering menu with a selection of the Mötley Crüe front man's signature burgers and burritos. Vince Neil's Party Bus Bar, located just upstairs from the restaurant, features flair bartenders and party girls offering up shots and other creative cocktails. Rounding out the amenities at Circus Circus are pools, the Alexandra Noel Beauty Salon and shops that sell everything from designer fragrances to taffy and old-time photos. Want to tie the knot? Weddings are conducted in the Chapel of the Fountain, which has a romantic English garden setting.Circus Circus boasts several different kinds of accommodations. There are comfortable, traditional rooms along with 135 spacious suites in the West, Casino and Skyrise towers. Circus Circus Manor is a series of five three-story buildings that offer motor lodge-style rooms and parking. Plus, opening in late 2014, the RV Park at Circus Circus will have 170 spaces and feature options for grass, patios and outdoor furniture in addition to pool and laundry facilities.Clearly, the ultimate, affordable, family-style resort in Las Vegas is Circus Circus. Where else would you have easy access to a midway under a pink-and-white big top as well as a giant indoor theme park?
