The Quad Resort & Casino is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino. All of the rooms as well as the pool deck, spa and retail area are being renovated. Construction has already begun. The name change will be official on Oct. 30, 2014, with construction due to be completed by spring 2015. The resort will remain open throughout construction. If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino. Much of The Quad's interior and exterior have been refurbished. Among the new elements are a renovated porte cochere, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also connected to The LINQ, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has debuted as well -- with three bars, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables. Caesars Entertainment has announced that The Quad will be rebranded as The LINQ Hotel & Casino on Oct. 30, 2014. As part of a $223 million renovation project, the property's 2,256 rooms and suites will be remodeled to feature contemporary decor elements as well as pillow-top mattresses, 47-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations with speakers and rain shower heads. In addition, a new pool area (featuring both a standard hotel pool and a dayclub experience), a new lobby bar, a new spa and fitness center, and the new Vortex Roof Deck, are under construction and will debut in spring 2015.The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- including Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Flamingo, Bally's and Harrah's.The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort. The amenities are spread throughout several floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. In addition to traditional table games and slots, you'll find a state-of-the-art race and sports book and a five-table poker room. The casino tends to be crowded around the clock. The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst Bar. TAG Lounge & Bar also offers more than 300 bottled, can and large-format brews from the U.S. and around the world -- you can even serve yourself at pour-your-own-draft tables. Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to ladders and power tools, also perform in a rock 'n' roll-oriented production in the evening. If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.?The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine along with an array of margaritas and a mechanical bull are offered at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at the south end of the property. The Quad also boasts has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions. Work up a sweat in the fitness center. You can get a manicure in The Salon at The Quad, but the spa is currently closed for renovation.Clean and comfortable, The Quad's towers feature a variety of accommodations ranging from classic rooms with all the basics to deluxe "luv tub" rooms that have spa tubs thrown into the mix. Plus, pet-loving guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends (weighing less than 50 pounds) to lodge in the special PetStay rooms. For those wanting to tie the knot, the Silver Sky Chapel features two fine venues: the signature Skyline Chapel and the Southwestern Chapel with a desert motif. The Quad is a resort offering value-oriented accommodations. Whether you are coming to party with a group of friends, bringing your family for a vacation or attending a conference, the hotel is sure to suit you.-- By Renée LiButtiNOTE: Due to construction at The Quad, as it is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino, guests may may encounter temporary inconveniences, construction walls and some noise during daytime hours. The Quad's spa and pool are currently closed for remodeling. Guests can use the Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas or the pools at Paris Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Excellent location and value

Excellent location and value. Did not use pool on this trip, but was happy with it previously. Transition to "The Quad" underway, and will be a great place to stay after the transition as it is now and before as the Imperial Palace.

While there's no shortage of gorgeous, scantily clad women in Las Vegas, in all likelihood, a higher concentration of them can be found at the world's only Hooters Casino Hotel, just one block east of the Strip on Tropicana Avenue and one mile from McCarran International Airport.A resort with a casual party atmosphere, Hooters Casino Hotel has loads of beautiful women on staff -- including Hooters Grills in the namesake restaurant donning their trademark skimpy orange shorts and skin-tight white tank tops. Known for its irreverent spirit, the resort offers more than just eye candy. Guests at Hooters Casino Hotel, both male and female, are treated to comfortable rooms, plenty of exciting casino action, a variety of dining options and more.In the Night Owl Showroom, Kevin Lepine hypnotizes audience members to do funny and naughty things in "Hypnosis Unleashed."  A beach-bumming feel permeates Hooters Casino Hotel, right down to the image of footprints on the floor of the elevators leading up to the rooms and colorful surf boards on the walls. The pool area is open 24/7 and features two tropical themed pools, complete with a waterfall. And Hooters Girls are on hand to serve up cold beverages at the pool bar.At Hooters Casino Hotel, you can also find a drink in Pete & Shorty's anytime.  Inside the casino, wood flooring lines the general pathways while festive lights are strung along the ceiling. The action is always hopping with beautiful girls behind the tables to deal games including blackjack. Several Hooters-themed slots, such as Blazen Hooters, can be found among the 550 slot and video poker machines spread throughout the gaming floor. There is also a poker room and a William Hill sports book.During NASCAR season, the Hooters Girls may face a little competition, as all eyes turn to a different sleek spectacle on the casino floor: The actual Hooters-sponsored Thunderbird raced by the late Alan Kulwicki to win the 1992 American NASCAR Winston CupBetween gambling, swimming and ogling, the typical Hooters Casino Hotel guest can work up quite an appetite. But at Hooters hunger is never an issue. Along with breakfast, lunch, dinner and, of course, chicken wings in Hooters Restaurant, you can enjoy fine dinner offerings in Mad Onion Fine Food & Spirits.-- Staff Report

There is no chance MGM Grand, which dominates the northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue (the busiest intersection on the Strip), will ever become dated. In fact, the iconic resort has completed a glamorous makeover. All of the rooms have been remodeled and several of the property's entertainment, dining and nightlife experiences are brand new. Today, as in the past, guests can always count on unparalleled entertainment at the resort. First and foremost, the MGM Grand is an entertainment destination. Its 16,000-seat Grand Garden Arena hosts concerts by the world's top artists, championship boxing matches, award shows and so much more. Magician David Copperfield is a regular headliner in the more intimate Hollywood Theatre -- and he isn't disappearing any time soon. In addition to “the greatest illusionist of our time,” the venue hosts an assortment of talented musicians and comedians.MGM Grand is also home to the Cirque du Soleil production "KÀ." This show is a visual feast. It's comprised of acrobatic feats and often compared to a martial arts movie -- just in theater format. And Brad Garrett's Comedy Club hosts an array of nationally known comedians who will have you doubled over in fits of laughter. An 8,500-square-foot performance theater featuring Beacher's Madhouse pushes the boundaries of entertainment and fantasy. It offers a late-evening show/club atmosphere with a circus-like energy. With more than 20 restaurants, you can have a taste of the finest cuisine from around the world at MGM Grand. Many acclaimed international chefs helm one-of-a-kind dining experiences here.Joël Robuchon is the namesake restaurant of the legendary chef who has received numerous awards. He is the first and only three-star "Michelin Guide" winner in Las Vegas. His French cuisine creations are like works of art. Guests can choose to indulge in a tasting menu or order à la carte in either the elegant main room or a garden-designed dining room. Next door, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon offers a similarly divine menu, but in a less formal atmosphere.  At Craftsteak, Tom Colicchio has the preparation of steaks, chops and seafood down to a science. Michael Mina Pub 1842 provides a distinctive take on classic pub fare along with an extensive selection of beers and cocktails. You can indulge in the richness of Creole cuisine at Emeril's New Orleans Fish House. Another imaginative menu -- with items like his famous wood-fired pizzas as well as pastas, grilled fish and succulent meat -- is available in the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. The Morton Group's restaurant Crush has a cosmopolitan shared-plate menu with selections inspired by traditional favorites as well as standouts from regions around the world. And then there's Pearl, The Grand Wok and Sushi Bar, Fiamma Trattoria & Bar, Shibuya...and the list of fabulous restaurants goes on and on. Casual meals are available too at MGM Grand. The jungle-themed Rainforest Café provides a wild time for all ages, thanks to animatronic critters. Hecho en Vegas prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine as well as popular Mexican favorites. For an inexpensive breakfast, lunch or dinner, head to the MGM Grand Buffet, which dishes up more than 30 different entrées, pastas, casseroles and fresh veggies. Avenue Café is another option with plenty of choices for breakfast and lunch. In addition, quick bites are available at the MGM Grand Food Court, Project Pie and three sprawling Starbucks. Or grab a quick treat at Blizz Frozen Yogurt, Corner Cakes and the decadent Sugar Factory retail store. For relaxation, there are five outdoor swimming pools in the 6.6-acre Grand Pool Complex, complete with a 1,000-foot river and waterfalls. And summertime always brings steamy fun, courtesy of Wet Republic. The chic ultra pool provides guests with a nightlife-like atmosphere featuring private bungalows, cocktail service and DJ-spun music.Speaking of nightlife, there are virtually a million places to drink, dance and party. MGM Grand's Lobby Bar and center bar, called Centrifuge, are great spots for meeting up with friends and family. Tap Sports Bar has more than 48 draft beers and a large selection of handcrafted bottled beers -- plus, you can eat American food favorites for lunch and dinner, peruse sports memorabilia and watch games on 60-inch HD TVs. And Hakkasan Las Vegas, an 80,000 square-foot club with a Cantonese-themed restaurant boasts spectacular indoor and outdoor views of the Strip, a huge dance floor with a suspended performance area, the Ling Ling Lounge, the Ling Ling Club and other unique nightlife experiences.Among MGM Grand's other offerings are a comprehensive casino floor, the Grand Spa (try The Dreaming Ritual, its two-hour signature treatment that includes Australian Aboriginal massage techniques and other forms of all-over pampering), Cristophe Salon and a huge fitness center. If you love the TV show "CSI," don't miss CSI: The Experience. It lets you jump into the role of a crime scene investigator and piece together evidence in order to solve one of three mysteries. Plus, MGM Grand houses the research center CBS Television City, where you can be among the first to give feedback about TV pilots, video games and consumer products. Those in the mood to shop can browse through the stores along The District in the main thoroughfare, explore The Underground on the lower level of the main lobby or check out a variety of souvenir outlets located throughout the premises. The race and sports book at MGM Grand is the place to catch your favorite sporting event. Brimming with energy and excitement, it features 17 betting counters, comfortable seating, a bar and the adjacent Stage Deli. Video walls and high-tech media are spread throughout the room and exclusive "skyboxes" add to the experience. Also visit the high-end gaming lounge called Whiskey Down. In addition to blackjack and video poker, it has a 64-seat bar serving a fine collection of brown spirits (American, Canadian, Irish and Scotch whiskies).Accommodations at MGM Grand are as varied as the rest of the property's offerings, ranging in size and price. As mentioned above, the resort recently completed a $160 million remodeling project that included 3,570 guest rooms and 642 suites in the hotel’s main tower. The redesign utilized a warm color palette with contemporary furnishings. It will also incorporated environmentally responsible elements such as LED lighting, improved thermostats, solar shades, upgraded faucets and showers, and bath amenities that are 100 percent biodegradable. Plus, there is now a "Stay Well" collection of 42 rooms, which are loaded with amenities designed to promote better health and combat jet lag.MGM Grand is weaving a modern vision while respecting its entertainment roots. It continues to elevate itself as a tour de force of hospitality, ambiance and design in Las Vegas. And visitors of all walks of life are toasting the resort's latest accomplishments while eagerly anticipating all the new entertainment, dining and nightlife experiences yet to come.-- By Renée LiButti

Reflecting the spirit of Las Vegas' past while embracing a passion and vitality for the future, the legendary Bally's resort in the heart of the Strip is an enduring favorite among visitors. Offering much more than just affordable accommodations, Bally's showcases cosmopolitan dining, a fine spa and a premier race and sports book.Of course, entertainment makes up a cornerstone of the resort. "Jubilee" has a history spanning more than 30 years. The grand-scale production is responsible for pioneering the showgirl-style revue. Although revamped and given a culturally contemporary twist, it retains its topless showgirls flocked in feathers and rhinestones. In fact, nearly 100 showgirls and showboys kick, dance and sing their way through over-the-top numbers like the sinking of the Titanic. And if you can't get enough of "Jubilee" onstage, go on the Jubilee Backstage Tour. The all-access afternoon walking tour, which is led by a showgirl, takes you behind the scenes to check out the giant-sized props, the extravagant costumes and much more.Other entertainment options at the resort include the interactive dinner shows "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" and "I Don't Have a Clue," the tribute show "Country Superstars," the L.A. Comedy Club and "Veronic Voices" featuring tributes to popular female recording artists like Madonna, Lady Gaga, Adele, Pink and Celine Dion. Bally's has its share of distinctive restaurants -- like BLT Steak, a highly regarded steakhouse from New York City. Among its signature staples are popovers, tuna tartare, Dover sole and of course, specialty steaks. On Saturdays and Sundays, BLT Steak serves the Sterling Brunch, where guests can indulge in fine fare including caviar, lobster tails, fresh-shucked oysters, Alaskan king crab legs, and never-ending glasses of Perrier Jouët Champagne, mimosas and bloody Marys. Check out the Tequila Bar and Grill for flavorful Mexican favorites, and Sea - The Thai Experience, which features unique fusion cuisine in a sleek setting. The Sidewalk Café is open for those who want to grab a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. Elsewhere on the property, you'll find fast eats at Java Coast, Nosh and the large food court, which includes Johnny Rockets, Nathan's Famous, Sbarro, Pan Asian Express and Subway. In the evenings, dance the night away at the Indigo Lounge. Live bands perform in this seductive spot, usually accompanied by a sexy tabletop dancer or two. And you can make friends with other visitors in Sully's, the wood-paneled bar near the lobby that has been welcoming guests to Bally's for many years. Victor Drai's Liaison, a gay nightclub, is elegantly designed to feature sexy dark decor. Liaison plays hip-hop, rap and top 40 music as well as hosts a drag night. If you're interested in the day's big games, the resort is home to the finest race and sports book around. Located at one end of Bally’s Avenue Shoppes (an eclectic collection of fashion, souvenir, jewelry, luggage and sundries stores), this stadium-style venue has projection-screen TVs wherever the eye can see. A VIP lounge, called the Sky Box, features additional flat-screen televisions and comfortable seating. It can accommodate up to 100 guests. Plus, there's a big bar with high-top tables spilling out out into the shopping area.Bally's has begun construction on the $50 million Grand Bazaar Shops. Scheduled to open by the end of December 2014, the 2-acre outdoor retail complex will be located at the front of the property. Inspired by great markets from around the world, the Grand Bazaar Shops will have 150 outlets including Swatch, Superdry, Havaianas and Campo Marzio. More than a third of the space will be dedicated to restaurants, bars and food outlets. The focal point of the Grand Bazaar Shops will be a spectacular tower called the Swarovski Crystal Starburst. Positioned over the brand's store, it will display a dazzling midnight show of lights and music.Bally's includes an Olympic-sized pool with palm trees, private cabanas and a whirlpool. There's also an impressive tennis complex, the largest one on the Strip. All eight championship-caliber courts are lit for night play. A full-service pro shop and lessons from a former ATP Tour player are also available.A place that offers rejuvenation and profound relaxation, The Spa at Bally's is an exceptional facility. It has 18 treatment rooms, multiple hot tubs, wet and dry saunas, and a eucalyptus steam room. There is a salon and fitness center as well. The comfortable accommodations at Bally's comprise 2,814 spacious guest rooms and suites. Among the standard amenities are hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, clock radios, internet access (for a fee) and cable TVs. Unlike many hotels on the Strip, Bally's has designated "PetStay" rooms where pets are allowed to stay for an additional fee.The resort is connected to Paris Las Vegas through Le Boulevard shops. It also is on the Las Vegas Monorail route. This means you'll have easy access to other great hotels on the Strip as well as to the Las Vegas Convention Center.Bally's opened in 1973 as the original MGM Grand. At that time, with more than 2,000 rooms, it was one of the largest hotels in the world. Today, it's no longer among the biggest properties -- but at Bally's you can surround yourself with the charm of yesteryear while enjoying a fabulous present-day Vegas vacation.-- By Renée LiButti

I am coming to ballys and would like to know the transportation fron ballys to freemont st

The easiest and most inexpensive way to get to Fremont St. from any hotel on the strip is the Deuce (bus). A one day pass is $7 for unlimited trips. A cab ride from Bally's will run around $30 each way.

With an aura of minimalism, Aria stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of both the Las Vegas Strip and the incredible CityCenter urban complex. Sophisticated and chic, it sports a design that spans modern architecture, but also is environmentally thoughtful. In fact, the U.S. Green Building Council has awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design's Gold certification to Aria’s hotel tower, convention center and theater.Embodying the excitement of the Entertainment Capital of the World, the resort is packed with hot hangouts -- so many that you'll have trouble deciding where to go first. The colossal Haze Nightclub is among the city's top nightspots. A 25,000-square-foot facility, it boasts plush décor elements complemented by a high-tech atmosphere (imagine state-of-the-art sound and interactive projection screens). The Deuce Lounge, on the other hand, has a more intimate setting being tucked off the casino floor. In addition to providing high-stakes gaming tables, you'll discover a rich, refined ambiance akin to an old English club here. And, like chilled-out cousins, Lift Bar and Lobby Bar all offer wonderfully crafted cocktails and contemporary furnishings -- but with a laid-back vibe. Alibi Cocktail Room, which will blend premium spirits and imaginative ingredients with an atmosphere of highly stylized opulence, will debut in fall 2014.Cirque du Soleil is presenting its production "Zarkana" at Aria. The modern acrobatic spectacular follows Zark in a quest to regain his powers -- and the love of his life -- in an abandoned theater, where he meets a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats.  Several celebrity chefs have come to Aria to open restaurants that serve creative, mouth-watering cuisine. Designed by chef Masa Takayama, Bar Masa has an interior inspired by natural elements. It remarkably transforms an industrial, airy space into a serene dining experience. Of course, the modern Japanese delicacies on the menu are unforgettable as well. Chef Takayama also recently debuted his intimate teppan dining experience in there called Tetsu. In Jean Georges Steakhouse, by award-winning chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, meat is king and seafood is queen. From the perfectly prepared steaks to the lobster bisque, your taste buds will be crying out with joy and admiration. The small plates at Julian Serrano, the artisanal meats at Sage from chef Shawn McClain and the Tuscan-style selections at Sirio Ristorante by chefs Sirio and Mario Maccioni round out the extraordinary collection of gourmet venues in Aria.Chef Michael Mina will unveil Bardot Brasserie in winter 2014. The restaurant will pay homage to the café culture of Ernest Hemingway's Paris and feature a roving shellfish cart along with items like roasted bone marrow with bacon marmalade, foie gras en croute and steak frites. For a casual bite, guests can head to Aria Café, which has tranquil surroundings created from hundreds of stacked stones set in frosted glass. Chef Shawn McClain is at the helm of the laid-back FIVE50 Pizza Bar (the name is inspired by the temperature at which the pizza is cooked). With a contemporary setting, The Buffet at Aria is sure to please the eyes and taste buds. Masterfully prepared sweets -- including decadent chocolate molded into every form imaginable -- are available at the Jean Philippe Pâtisserie. Open during the warmer months, Aria has three pools spread across a 215,000-square-foot deck laden with palm trees and lush landscaping. Guests can also sunbathe in a party-like ambiance at the Liquid Pool Lounge. Along with great music spun by DJs and luxurious private cabanas and daybeds, you can indulge in refreshing cocktails from multiple bars and a mouth-watering menu from chef Brian Massie. Also during the day, pampering from head to toe can be found at The Spa & Salon. The 80,000-square-foot complex stretches between two levels and includes meditation and relaxation rooms, eucalyptus steam rooms, redwood saunas, a deluxe fitness room and a group exercise studio. Velvety facials, therapeutic massages and hydrotherapy treatments are among the services provided.Guests who want to do some shopping can check out a collection of specialty boutiques at Aria. Terrene carries one-of-a-kind designer apparel and jewelry for women, while men can get outfitted at Aria Men's store. Also stop by Radiance (an art gallery), Papillon (an accessories store) and Elements (a design and sundries shop). If you're interested in placing some bets, Aria's casino boasts a unique layout, one that is spacious yet features discrete pockets of action -- like several small high-limit gaming areas. There is a fine sports book with 90 video screens ranging in size from 32 to 103 inches. The elegant poker room, framed by sculptures of playing cards, is one of the best in the city. Located near the entrance to access the tram (which is free and runs between Aria/Monte Carlo, Crystals and Bellagio), there are 24 tables that provide a full range of games -- from seven card stud to Pot Limit Omaha. It also boasts the exclusive one-table "Ivey Room," named in honor of seven-time World Series of Poker champion Phil Ivey. The design excellence at Aria is embraced in the resort's 4,572 lavish rooms and suites. Natural light streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. The décor makes use of dramatic colors, expressive artwork and materials that convey relaxation. As part of the high-tech amenities, guests are able to personalize their preferences for the curtains, lights and more by simply touching a menu on the TV screen. Among the standard amenities are custom mattresses, plush robes, a 42-inch LCD television, an in-room safe, a dual vanity and a separate shower and soaking tub.Aria's fine art collection, which features a mix of prominent and up-and-coming artists, is among the most extensive around. Pieces have been integrated throughout indoor and outdoor public spaces on the property. In the lobby, you'll catch sight of "Silver River" by New York-based artist Maya Lin. The 84-foot sculpture of the Colorado River was made from 100 percent reclaimed silver. Also visible through windows in the lobby is a well-known sculpture by Henry Moore situated in the park between Aria and Crystals at CityCenter. Made from Italian travertine marble, "Reclining Connected Forms" depicts a baby wrapped in its mother's arms. And, at the south entrance by the stairs to the self-parking garage, sit three striking stainless steel sculptures -- "Bolt," "Bent of Mind" and "Untitled/Tall Column" -- by British-born artist Tony Cragg.Lovely to look at from every angle and filled with unexpected delights, Aria's sophisticated style is sure to wow you -- as will its exquisite dining and relaxation opportunities. Plus, the personalized, high-tech touch service guarantees you'll have an exceptional stay during your Las Vegas visit.-- By Renée LiButti

Can an 18 year old person reserve a hotel room?

hello i was wondering if an 18 year old person can reserve a hotel room this is my first time go to vegas. im taking some friens to have a good time in vegas and we saw this place to stay in but didnt know if an 18 year old person can reserve a room.
Most (if not all) casinos require you to be 21 to reserve a room. There should be other hotels that do not have a casino (Travelodge, etc) that may allow you to reserve a room if you are not 21. Make sure you read the fine print on any reservation, most will not issue a refund if you book a room and can not show over 21 ID when you arrive to check in.

Although it may seem preposterous, some hotels in Las Vegas are geared to kids -- like Circus Circus, which is located at the northern end of the Strip. Book a room here and the whole family will be able to embark on a flight of fancy.Start your adventure at The Adventuredome, a five-acre theme park situated beneath a climate-controlled dome covered with pink glass. It contains at least 25 unique rides. The brave at heart can hop on the Canyon Blaster, a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster. The younger set is sure to enjoy Miner Mike, a runaway coal train, or the Thunderbirds, a squadron of not-so-high-flying 1920s-style airplanes. Plus, several virtual reality film rides are broadcast in the FX Theatre, including "SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D" and "Happy Feet: Mumble's Wild Ride 4-D," for all ages. The Adventuredome has recently added a new roller coaster -- El Loco. After a 90-foot ascent, the 72-second ride offers negative G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists.Parents looking for more adult-oriented pastimes can play slots in the nearby Skyrise Casino or head downstairs to the main casino floor, where there is race and sports book, more than 40 table games (note: free lessons in poker, blackjack, roulette and craps are offered daily) and more than 1,500 of the latest slot and video poker machines.Ironically, situated above is the famed Circus Circus Midway, where you can win stuffed animals and other toys by trying your luck at one of more than 200 popular carnival games. In the center of all the action is the Midway Stage, home to free live circus acts featuring performers from around the world. Shows run every half hour from early afternoon until late at night. You'll actually encounter clownin' around everywhere on the property. Since opening in 1968, Circus Circus has presented roving clowns and other beloved circus acts not only on stages in the Midway and The Adventuredome, but also wandering the floor space throughout both facilities -- this includes the lobby, the shopping promenade and other gathering spots. Clowns are like ambassadors at Circus Circus. In addition to their merrymaking, they answer questions, give directions and make any waits in line pass by enjoyably. When it's time to eat, you'll find something for everyone at this resort -- from quick snacks to full-service restaurants and the massive Circus Buffet. And don't miss the most enchanting eatery on the premises -- a snack bar in the Midway designed to resemble a carousel. I believe this is $25 but you can save a few dollars using a coupon you can get in any free vegas magazine, or the pamphlets located in a Taxi or by the monorail entrance

You can't miss the Luxor in Las Vegas. The giant pyramid-shaped resort named for an ancient Egyptian city shines the world's strongest light beam into the sky each night. As happens in history, things change. Since opening in 1993, the 30-story architectural wonder has evolved. The Luxor now has a more contemporary, less ancient Egyptian feel.Although you'll still see replicas of Cleopatra's Needle and the giant sphinx outside as well as enjoy the stunning rendition of the Great Temple of Ramesses II upon entering the world's largest atrium, everywhere else you'll encounter a hipper, more high-energy vibe.Overall, the Luxor is an excellent, affordably priced resort sandwiched between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur on the southern end of the Strip. (Note: A free tram provides easy access to both those properties.) Here, guests can do it all. There are numerous entertainment options, good restaurants and fascinating exhibits, along with convenient access to a world-class retail complex -- The Shoppes at Mandalay Place -- situated on the sky bridge connecting the Luxor to Mandalay Bay.This hotel is ideal for leisure, business and family travelers. There are 4,400 rooms and suites housed among the pyramid and two 22-story towers. In the pyramid, guests revel in riding the four "inclinators," which zip up the structure at a 39-degree angle. Slanted glass windows also add to the distinctive décor. The twin towers, on the other hand, offer more traditional accommodations. In both settings, the rooms are air-conditioned, well-appointed, come with 27-inch televisions and have high-speed internet access -- so your stay is guaranteed to be comfortable. In terms of entertainment, the Luxor caters to a wide range of interests. Laugh it up while watching the antics of prop comedian Carrot Top, or be mystified by "Criss Angel Believe." Cirque du Soleil joined forces with the "Mindfreak" magician to create this haunting show filled with spectacular illusions. Sexy dancers prance around nightly in "Fantasy," while "Menopause the Musical" gives mature women who are either facing or have lived through "The Change" something to chuckle about. And the hot urban dance crew Jabbawockeez perform in the show "PRiSM." The production features a state-of-the-art set, cutting-edge technology, inventive costumes and the latest music combined with a specially designed, custom-built theater.Although not a dining powerhouse, there are several standout restaurants in the Luxor. T&T (Tacos & Tequila) features a combination of traditional and modern Mexican cuisine from celebrated chef Richard Sandoval. Decorative metallic art pieces that hang from the ceiling add to the rock 'n' roll atmosphere, as do an array of tequila-based drinks. Rice and Company is another innovative eatery serving healthy twists on traditional Chinese and Japanese cuisines. It also offers tropically influenced variations of sushi, sashimi, hibachi and teriyaki. The Luxor's dining options are rounded out by the gourmet steak and seafood restaurant Tender and the kosher-style Backstage Deli. More the Buffet is located in its own special area just an escalator ride down from the main casino floor. A trendy food court is helmed by McDonald's along with L.A. Subs and Salads, Benanno's New York Pizzeria and The Original Chicken Tender Co. Plus, Public House, a sophisticated bar and pub with American-style cuisine and East Coast roots, opened recently.Liquidity is the central hot spot for nightlife at the Luxor, and as such it lies at the center of the resort. You'll be mesmerized by all the eye-catching water and lighting effects. Posh LAX is another featured nightclub. Behind gothic-like gates, it sprawls out over two floors and attracts a young, stylish crowd. A more intimate nightlife experience is available next door at Savile Row, which alludes to the infamous London Street of the same name. Alternatively, Flight and Aurora provide more laid-back bar experiences.Guests of all ages will want to investigate Luxor's two museum-quality exhibits. "BODIES...The Exhibition" illustrates the inner workings of the human body by showcasing real bodies and organs, while "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" tells the story of the doomed ship through a display of authentic artifacts and re-creations of the Grand Staircase, the Promenade Deck and a first-class cabin. Although small in comparison to other spas on the Strip, Nurture Spa and Salon has a cheerful, rejuvenating outlook combined with an extensive menu of massages, facials and body treatments. Four large pools, a whirlpool and 12 private cabanas make up the Luxor's five-acre pool area. And more than 120,000 square feet of gaming awaits on the casino floor, including a vibrant race and sports book and the Bruce Buffer Poker Room.Friendly and accommodating, the Luxor offers a unique setting that makes a great base from which to venture anywhere in Las Vegas. And when the day is done, you'll have a comfortable bed in the pyramid or the adjoining towers to come home to.-- By Renée LiButti

Is an early check in time available?

We originally had plans for Friday, but they fell through. We will be flying in early Saturday morning to Vegas, will we be able to check in early and if so, what time is the earliest and how much extra will it cost?
I've had early check in here before, but it will be based on availibility and your willingness to take an available room vs. your preference. (maybe 2 beds instead of a single). I do not remember if there was a fee at Luxor, but if so, I would guess $10-$15
