Even if you get covered in popcorn, you won't want to stop the clown from posing as an usher and engaging in some pre-show debauchery with the crowd. With his black suit and disheveled gray hair, he has no problem amusing people. The clown is zany, mischievous and your first exposure to the unknown at Mystère by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island. What's ahead is a wondrous world of mystifying creatures who perform a series of incredible acrobatic and gymnastic feats. When Mystère opened in 1993, the show was the first Cirque du Soleil production in Vegas. Emphasizing awe-inspiring athleticism and imaginative imagery, it embraces all of the signature Cirque du Soleil elements that have made the production company a mainstay on the Las Vegas Strip. From rebirth to the pursuit of happiness, each of the characters and acts in Mystère symbolizes something different. They combine to create an overall theme for the show as a celebration of the circle of life. Some audience members may interpret each act as an allegory, but with the innovative costumes and performances, realizing those themes isn't necessary for enjoying this show. What makes Mystère so endearing is that many of the performances are typical circus-style acts like the flying trapeze, an aerialist and the teeterboard, an acrobatic tool where a person jumps on one end of what looks like a seesaw and the person on the other end is launched into the air. However, in Mystère, the boundaries of those disciplines are pushed, creating fantastical routines that you won't see in any other production. For instance, in the hand-to-hand routine, two muscular men demonstrate a series of gravity-defying poses and their incredible strength, but they don't even perform on a flat surface. In Mystère, the men do this while balancing on a rotating dome, adding to the awesomeness of their routine. The Tissu act is another example. In this routine a female aerialist performs while suspending herself with two pieces of fabric hanging from the ceiling. This type of act can be seen in other shows on the Strip, but in Mystère the performer combines contortion, acrobatics and movement in her routine, creating optical illusions that defy imagination.Music played by live musicians and singers drives the show. Mixing elements of everything from rock to Celtic, African and soul music, the soundtrack is just as mysterious as the action on stage.Along with awe-inspiring moments, Mystère offers a hearty does of comedy brought on by the clown "usher" and an adult-sized baby. They appear on stage throughout the show. The clown and baby don’t tell jokes, but their wacky antics and interactions with the audience make people laugh. It's hard not to chuckle when you see a man on stage wearing a diaper and a bonnet. When the comedy segments come to a close, the show quickly changes pace. Once again the audience is sitting in amazement at another thrilling routine. One of these is the Chinese Poles. For this act a group of gymnasts perform on four vertical poles. They crawl, jump and flip up, down and across the poles. Their masks add to the implausibility of their performance. While their bodies face away from the audience, their masks are looking right at them. It seems impossible, but then again, this is Mystère.-- By Caroline Fontein

The names Kevin, Chris, Juan and Billy may not sound like anything special, but these are not your average guys. Like the other members of Chippendales, these heartthrobs are tan with sculpted bodies and perfect smiles. While standing on stage wearing the signature Chippendales' costume - a bow tie, wrist cuffs and jeans, the men fulfill just about every female fantasy, but they do a lot more than just look pretty. These men can dance and they demonstrate their aptitude in pelvic thrusting and hip shaking to the screams of women in the audience cheering for more. There are 10 men that make up the Chippendales cast. Each of them is good looking and varied enough in appearance to suit all tastes. "Tall, blonde, dark and lean rough and tough and strong and mean," this show has it all. The uninterrupted flow of gorgeous performers entering and leaving the stage becomes a live version of the Weather Girls' hit "It's Raining Men." With each new scene the men portray a different female fantasy. First, it's construction workers, then cowboys and later doctors looking for a patient from the audience. Women leap out of their seats in hopes of being selected to join the hunks on stage.Next, the men do a re-enactment of "The Dating Game" where three women in the audience are selected to go on stage and compete for their shot at getting some up-close and personal attention with three of the performers.Ladies don't worry if you're not selected, you still have a few more opportunities to get your hands on these cocoa-butter-basted babes. Throughout the show they walk into the audience to dance and flirt with women in the crowd. While the men may not be available, you're still in luck if you're looking for a keepsake to take home. The performers' white tank tops are one of the first things that are torn off every time they strip, and the shirts usually get thrown into the crowd. These former Chippendale-chest-hugging tanks are a hot commodity. Women in the audience don't hesitate to jump and dive to get their hands on them. When it comes to having fun for a girls' night out, bachelorette party or other special occasion, Chippendales the Show is the epitome of every female fantasy. Afterwards, you can continue your night of male indulgence in Flirt Lounge located next to the showroom. The performers invite everyone to join them there for some fun after the show.

No, I do not recommend this product.
The show needs some sprucing up.

It was quite a disappointment to watch the show because clearly, the chippendales were performing without putting their hearts into it. It was just another regular nite. No doubt the women were screaming at the sight of their bodies but aside from the well chiseled bods, there was nothing much to it. The dancing was only average.

The disembodied narrators of the Blue Man Group show profess to know a lot about human nature and social evolution, but the three earless, voiceless, black-clad stars are oddly oblivious.Though it deals out a good dose of off-color humor, the show also takes on big issues including brain function, groupthink, artificial intelligence and the loss of language, guiding the audience to its conclusions about society with the same playful force that the trio of mimes uses to harangue guests into participating in the production.Once the floating eyeball blimps finish their pre-show course around the theater and silent scrolling text has mocked a few of your fellow audience members, be prepared to have a bright blue hand sift through your personal belongings and to hear a booming voice insinuate that your iPhone is making you less human. It's all part of the fun.Blue Man Group sprinkles its show with kid-friendly variety acts and quick-change illusions, but the core of its appeal is the company's signature music, played on fantastical invented instruments. Lighting and special effects bolster the effect of the beats, but Blue Man Group is not a show with a soundtrack — it's a soundtrack with a show.

By far, the most intelligent theatrical masterpiece I've seen in Vegas!

It was a definite pleasure to watch something so intelligent on stage. The theatrics were wonderfully presented and the show was suitable for all age groups. Keep it up! I hope they come by Asia soon.

What is the seating like and do the prices vary by seat?

The seating is ok, quite an intimate affair as the theatre is small. The prices do vary but the night we went, it was hardly half-filled so we were asked to sit in the front row, which was nice.
