The Vegas desert seems like an unlikely home for marine life, but the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is no ordinary exhibit. Featuring a large aquarium filled with 1.6 million gallons of water, the exhibit is home to more than 2,000 animals. Everything from 14-foot long tiger sharks to a 300-pound sea turtle call the Shark Reef home. At the exhibit you'll get to see some of the world's most exotic marine predators and other species like the sawfish, giant rays, jellyfish and a rare golden crocodile. The attraction's interior design looks like an ancient temple that's slowly sinking into the ocean. One of the unique elements of Shark Reef is a tunnel that travels through part of the aquarium, giving guests an unparalleled view of various species of sharks and the aquarium's largest animals. This part of the exhibit is designed to look like a sunken shipwreck, creating a colorful seascape for the incredible species that inhabit the aquarium. The sharks featured in the exhibit include blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, bonnethead sharks, nurse sharks, sand tiger sharks, sandbar sharks, zebra sharks, white spotted bamboo sharks, port Jackson sharks and lemon sharks. Some species of sharks at Shark Reef will grow to be more than 18 feet long. Seeing the massive sharks swim peacefully alongside the smaller fish is mesmerizing. Since all of the sharks are fed on a regular basis, there's no need for them to seek food within their tank. It's one of the many fascinating facts you'll get to learn at Shark Reef. Shark Reef opened in 2000 and is the only aquarium in Nevada accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. It's considered one of the most prestigious facilities of its kind along with the San Diego Zoo and Sea World.Along with the shark tunnel, the exhibit also features interactive stations and other fascinating creatures, including crocodiles, piranhas and a Komodo dragon. In addition to being an exciting place to visit, the Shark Reef is also devoted to conservation and preservation of marine life. Come to admire the scenery and learn about incredible underwater creatures at Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.

Crabby workers- dirty windows
PostedJanuary 11, 2014
Have been to aquariums all over the US was excited to see the Shark Reef in Vegas. The first indication of a problem was the incredibly crabby ticket window person that was literally the rudest person we encountered in LasVegas. After going in we enjoyed petting the angel fish but unfortunately the glass on many of the large tanks was so finger printed and smeared the fish were hard to see. I did see a worker emptying garbage cans but they really needed a bottle of windex and roll of paper towels..

Seeing a stand-up comedian can be great. Add some sexy burlesque dancing to it, and now you have a show. Sin City Comedy & Burlesque at Planet Hollywood offers just that. The show features a rotating lineup of comedians and burlesque dancing that dates back to the 1840s when the two went hand and hand. Many of the comedians in this show are recognizable from appearances on Comedy Central, VH1, HBO, "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late, Late Show" and more.

2 dancers with 6 minute dances is hardly a "show"
PostedJanuary 11, 2014
Got tickets and was excited to go- the 90 minute show had 2 dancers that had one 6 minute song each. They were good and very tasteful. The MC was on stage for a long time saying how boring the crowd was and trying to do jokes between the 2 dancers then a comic from the 80's came out. He was ok, the last part of his show was pretty funny- a montage of parity/impressions - but for a show that billed itself as a Burlesque/comedy show I expected at least 1/2 and 1/2. There also was a 1 drink minimum in the fine print that cost an extra 30$ so that was a surprise.
