The D Las Vegas is located on Third Street between the Four Queens and Neonopolis. It's a hip, party-oriented resort – one that reflects the energetic vibe of the revitalized downtown area. Its 638 rooms and suites boast contemporary décor and furnishings, flat-screen televisions, iPod docking stations, pillow-top mattresses and more. High-speed wired and wireless internet access are available so you can stay connected to the world while traveling. The D Las Vegas is home to the Longbar. You can mingle and share in the excitement of downtown with other visitors at the longest bar in Nevada. This sleek spot has a color scheme of black combined with striking red high-top chairs. Fifteen huge flat-screen monitors have been mounted side-by-side down the length of the bar. There's another vibrant new bar outside on Fremont Street -- the D Bar. Flair bartenders serve an array of frozen drinks and specialty cocktails here. In addition, the Vue Bar on the property's second floor is the place to go for the best view of downtown's mesmerizing Viva Vision canopy.Eclectic entertainment is always on tap at the resort. You can get tickets to the interactive mystery dinner show "Marriage Can Be Murder" or the hilarious musical extravaganza Frankie Scinta and the Scintas. Comedy magician Adam London and "Ja-Makin'-Me Laugh," a ventriloquism act starring Matilda and Patrick Murray, appear in the afternoons. Featuring fine food and service, Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse on the second floor of The D Las Vegas offers expertly prepared steaks and homemade pasta in an elegant setting. A true dining gem -- where you can indulge in a five-star meal without the five-star price tag -- all of the dishes here are prepared from scratch daily using only the freshest ingredients. Among the items not to miss are the Andiamo Grande Meatball, the 32-ounce Andiamo Tomahawk rib eyesteak, the Pappardelle with Veal Ragu and the Cioppino alla Calabrese. Plus, the cannoli is to die for! For a more casual meal, step into the D Grill, where breakfast, lunch and dinner are dished up in generous portions. It's open 24 hours a day and every meal here -- from the fluffy Maui Pancakes and the Southern Herb-Fried Chicken to the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding -- is prepared from scratch. There's also a McDonald's on the premises. And The D Las Vegas has brought a Detroit hot dog legend to Sin City. American Coney Island now serves up Michigan's most famous Dearborn Sausage Company frankfurters -- complete with the secret recipe sauce! The casino at The D Las Vegas mixes modern and vintage atmospheres. You'll hear the hottest hits over the speaker system while playing the latest in slot machines and table games (some of which are hosted by the sizzling "Dancing Dealers") on the first floor. On the second floor, guests wanting a blast to the past will discover classic coin-operated machines and the beloved Sigma Derby, an electronic horse racing game. The resort also has a high-limit gaming area as well as a William Hill Sports Book.At The D Las Vegas, you can enjoy the benefits of staying in the heart of downtown with a high level of comfort and style -- all at a very affordable price.

 The Quad Resort & Casino
The Quad Resort & Casino
The Quad Resort & Casino is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino. All of the rooms as well as the pool deck, spa and retail area are being renovated. Construction has already begun. The name change will be official on Oct. 30, 2014, with construction due to be completed by spring 2015. The resort will remain open throughout construction. If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino. Much of The Quad's interior and exterior have been refurbished. Among the new elements are a renovated porte cochere, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also connected to The LINQ, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has debuted as well -- with three bars, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables. Caesars Entertainment has announced that The Quad will be rebranded as The LINQ Hotel & Casino on Oct. 30, 2014. As part of a $223 million renovation project, the property's 2,256 rooms and suites will be remodeled to feature contemporary decor elements as well as pillow-top mattresses, 47-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations with speakers and rain shower heads. In addition, a new pool area (featuring both a standard hotel pool and a dayclub experience), a new lobby bar, a new spa and fitness center, and the new Vortex Roof Deck, are under construction and will debut in spring 2015.The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- including Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Flamingo, Bally's and Harrah's.The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort. The amenities are spread throughout several floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. In addition to traditional table games and slots, you'll find a state-of-the-art race and sports book and a five-table poker room. The casino tends to be crowded around the clock. The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst Bar. TAG Lounge & Bar also offers more than 300 bottled, can and large-format brews from the U.S. and around the world -- you can even serve yourself at pour-your-own-draft tables. Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to ladders and power tools, also perform in a rock 'n' roll-oriented production in the evening. If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.?The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine along with an array of margaritas and a mechanical bull are offered at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at the south end of the property. The Quad also boasts has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions. Work up a sweat in the fitness center. You can get a manicure in The Salon at The Quad, but the spa is currently closed for renovation.Clean and comfortable, The Quad's towers feature a variety of accommodations ranging from classic rooms with all the basics to deluxe "luv tub" rooms that have spa tubs thrown into the mix. Plus, pet-loving guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends (weighing less than 50 pounds) to lodge in the special PetStay rooms. For those wanting to tie the knot, the Silver Sky Chapel features two fine venues: the signature Skyline Chapel and the Southwestern Chapel with a desert motif. The Quad is a resort offering value-oriented accommodations. Whether you are coming to party with a group of friends, bringing your family for a vacation or attending a conference, the hotel is sure to suit you.-- By Renée LiButtiNOTE: Due to construction at The Quad, as it is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino, guests may may encounter temporary inconveniences, construction walls and some noise during daytime hours. The Quad's spa and pool are currently closed for remodeling. Guests can use the Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas or the pools at Paris Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Great price, but hard to find hotel. Look for the Linq not the quad. Lots of construction going on.

Although it may seem preposterous, some hotels in Las Vegas are geared to kids -- like Circus Circus, which is located at the northern end of the Strip. Book a room here and the whole family will be able to embark on a flight of fancy.Start your adventure at The Adventuredome, a five-acre theme park situated beneath a climate-controlled dome covered with pink glass. It contains at least 25 unique rides. The brave at heart can hop on the Canyon Blaster, a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster. The younger set is sure to enjoy Miner Mike, a runaway coal train, or the Thunderbirds, a squadron of not-so-high-flying 1920s-style airplanes. Plus, several virtual reality film rides are broadcast in the FX Theatre, including "SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D" and "Happy Feet: Mumble's Wild Ride 4-D," for all ages. The Adventuredome has recently added a new roller coaster -- El Loco. After a 90-foot ascent, the 72-second ride offers negative G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists.Parents looking for more adult-oriented pastimes can play slots in the nearby Skyrise Casino or head downstairs to the main casino floor, where there is race and sports book, more than 40 table games (note: free lessons in poker, blackjack, roulette and craps are offered daily) and more than 1,500 of the latest slot and video poker machines.Ironically, situated above is the famed Circus Circus Midway, where you can win stuffed animals and other toys by trying your luck at one of more than 200 popular carnival games. In the center of all the action is the Midway Stage, home to free live circus acts featuring performers from around the world. Shows run every half hour from early afternoon until late at night. You'll actually encounter clownin' around everywhere on the property. Since opening in 1968, Circus Circus has presented roving clowns and other beloved circus acts not only on stages in the Midway and The Adventuredome, but also wandering the floor space throughout both facilities -- this includes the lobby, the shopping promenade and other gathering spots. Clowns are like ambassadors at Circus Circus. In addition to their merrymaking, they answer questions, give directions and make any waits in line pass by enjoyably. When it's time to eat, you'll find something for everyone at this resort -- from quick snacks to full-service restaurants and the massive Circus Buffet. The gourmet dining room, THE Steak House, has long been acclaimed for its perfectly prepared prime cuts of meat cooked on a mesquite charcoal broiler. The Garden Grill serves a menu of American favorites, and the Pizzeria is a whimsical spot for freshly baked pizza with an array of tempting toppings. Pick up a sweet treat at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, an overstuffed sandwich at the Westside Deli or a bagel and a cup of joe at Barista. And don't miss the most enchanting eatery on the premises -- a snack bar in the Midway designed to resemble a carousel. It rotates high above the casino floor -- and the gelato is simply divine!Rock 'n' roll legend Vince Neil has opened two party-oriented venues at Circus Circus. Vince Neil's Tatuado Eat-Drink-Party! has a mouth-watering menu with a selection of the Mötley Crüe front man's signature burgers and burritos. Vince Neil's Party Bus Bar, located just upstairs from the restaurant, features flair bartenders and party girls offering up shots and other creative cocktails. Rounding out the amenities at Circus Circus are pools, the Alexandra Noel Beauty Salon and shops that sell everything from designer fragrances to taffy and old-time photos. Want to tie the knot? Weddings are conducted in the Chapel of the Fountain, which has a romantic English garden setting.Circus Circus boasts several different kinds of accommodations. There are comfortable, traditional rooms along with 135 spacious suites in the West, Casino and Skyrise towers. Circus Circus Manor is a series of five three-story buildings that offer motor lodge-style rooms and parking. Plus, opening in late 2014, the RV Park at Circus Circus will have 170 spaces and feature options for grass, patios and outdoor furniture in addition to pool and laundry facilities.Clearly, the ultimate, affordable, family-style resort in Las Vegas is Circus Circus. Where else would you have easy access to a midway under a pink-and-white big top as well as a giant indoor theme park?

The Golden Nugget, which is located in the heart of downtown, feels like a property you'd find on the Strip. Even though it's got a long history, nothing about it is dated. The Golden Nugget is a dynamic resort with a hip attitude and doors that open out onto all the excitement of Fremont Street.  Guests will be right at home in any of the stylish rooms in the hotel's four towers. But it's the Golden Nugget's Rush Tower that has raised the bar on accommodations in downtown with its sophisticated and spacious suites. Boasting a contemporary design that reflects the vibrant scene just steps away, these suites provide every luxury imaginable. This includes pillow-top mattresses, feather down comforters, 42-inch plasma TVs and stunning views of downtown and the Strip's skyline. If you're looking for entertainment, the resort's showroom is stocked with star power. Impressionist Gordie Brown brings nearly a hundred celebs -- from icons like Elvis and Michael Jackson to Aaron Neville and Sylvester Stallone -- to life onstage. Of course, there is always live music and free Viva Vision sound and light shows to enjoy as part of the popular Fremont Street Experience attraction. The Golden Nugget's pool, dubbed The Tank, is an attraction in its own right. Guests will feel like they're at a water park when careening down a three-story, enclosed slide that goes through an aquarium filled with sharks. Plus, there's a luxurious oasis all around -- complete with daybeds and cabanas so you can soak up the sun and have some privacy at the same time. Drinks are always available at the H2O Bar. Another two-level, infinity-edge pool, called The Hideout, can be accessed from the third floor of The Tank. It's for adults only.   If aquariums are your thing, be sure to have a meal in the Chart House restaurant. Its bar wraps around a 75,000-gallon tropical aquarium filled with more than 1,000 colorful fish. In addition to the freshest seafood imaginable, you'll love the juicy steaks. Aficionados of Far East delights will have trouble choosing between Lillie's Asian Cuisine and Red Sushi. Go to the Grotto for a menu packed with Italian classics and a delightfully bright and open setting. Claim Jumper serves hearty portions of classic American food like burgers, sandwiches and ribs. Cadillac Mexican Cantina & Tequila Bar is the perfect place to get your south-of-the-border favorites like tacos and enchiladas, and it has a selection of more than 70 boutique tequilas. And it would be hard to find a more elegant steakhouse in Las Vegas than Vic & Anthony's with its dark wood paneling, dim lighting and leather-backed chairs. For something quick and easy, simply line up for The Buffet.Looking for a place to party? On the resort's second floor, the balcony at Gold Diggers reigns as Fremont Street Experience's most exclusive lookout point. When you step inside, there's a great bar as well as music from yesterday and today for dancing. Downstairs, the Rush Lounge is the hippest spot to sip signature cocktails while mixing and mingling, or you can order one of 40 different brews from the International Beer Bar. There is also Bar 46, an oval-shaped bar with a table games area that spills out onto Fremont Street.Be pampered in the stylish Spa and Salon, a sprawling full-service facility that includes a fitness center, sauna, whirlpool and steam room. Try one of their specially themed packages, like Las Vegas Lights (to prep for an evening out) or Quick Fix (for the morning after!).The Golden Nugget also has plenty of casino action including a poker room, a four-table baccarat pit and a stylish, country club-like sports book. There are several fine shops, ranging from d'Oro for jewelry and watches to The Chocolate Box for sweet treats. Plus, you can check out the largest gold nugget in the world on public display and even buy a gold bar from the Gold to Go ATM.Whether you're visiting Las Vegas on business, for a romantic getaway or with your family and friends, the Golden Nugget has the perfect accommodations ready and waiting for you, as well as the key to downtown.
