For an unparalleled stay right in the heart of the Strip, choose the sophisticated Wynn Las Vegas. Beautifully designed, this exquisite hotel features spacious, luxurious accommodations paired with every possible convenience -- from top-notch entertainment and magnificent restaurants to an extraordinary spa and golf course. Plus, the hotel's elegant sister property, Encore, is interconnected, so its boutique-style facilities are just steps away.Making a home at Wynn Las Vegas is "Le Rêve - The Dream," a sublime aquatic creation staged in a theater-in-the-round. In addition to jaw-dropping aerial acrobatics, feats that celebrate the strength of the human body and spectacularly choreographed dancing, the show utilizes unique props and elaborate special effects. Restaurants at Wynn Las Vegas, such as Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare and La Cave (a wine and food hideaway designed by Steve Wynn and Michael Morton), include offerings from internationally celebrated chefs, such as Paul Bartolotta and Bill DeMarco. Many of the resort's star chefs, like David Walzog of SW Steakhouse, a restaurant known for its prime aged steaks and chops, live in Las Vegas. In fact, most nights Walzog can be found on-site in the kitchen where he loves to experiment with seasonal ingredients. Wing Lei features the mastery of chef Ming Yu, who gives a modern spin to the cuisine of early French-influenced Shanghai. Allegro, which prepares beloved Italian eats, is helmed by chef Enzo Febbraro. For a more casual dining experience, The Buffet boasts 16 live-action exhibition cooking stations, and Zoozacrackers serves New York-style deli food. One facet that sets dining at Wynn Las Vegas apart from other hotels in town is that every restaurant on the property has added vegan items to their menus. After a fine meal, the resort's nightlife offerings only heighten the pleasure factor. Tryst, with its secluded lagoon and sizeable dance floor, looks out at a cascading 90-foot-waterfall. Guests can enjoy another spectacular view while sipping cocktails at the bars situated on the casino or lake levels. This is where they'll glimpse the magical Lake of Dreams, which features nightly light, music and multimedia shows. With its golden facade arching toward the sky, Wynn Las Vegas provides a unique fusion of nature and luxury. From the towering mountain at the front of the 217-acre resort to the stunning indoor atrium near the lobby, natural beauty and natural light permeate the property. Lagoons, waterfalls, terraced landscapes and skylights create a tranquil environment. Flowers bloom throughout, both living and as part of the design. Even the carpet in the 110,000-square-foot casino -- which has more than 1,900 slots, a 26-table poker room, a full array of tables games and a 195-seat race and sports book -- portrays a colorful and thematic flower pattern.A gorgeously landscaped, expansive outdoor pool complex has two main pools, private cabanas, table games and a special terrace for group events. The Spa at Wynn Las Vegas was recently renovated, where guests can also enjoy a salon and fitness center. There's an 18-hole, 7,042-yard golf course designed by world-famous architect Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn behind the resort with breathtaking waterfalls, streams and a forest of trees. The marriage of luxury and nature at Wynn Las Vegas does not end here. Guests ascending the 50-story hotel tower will discover rooms designed with floor-to-ceiling windows framing sweeping views of the Strip, the golf course or the lake and mountain. Room amenities include upscale European linens, flat-screen televisions in the living and bathroom areas, wireless internet access and more.Nowhere else but at Wynn Las Vegas can a shopper leave the hotel with Manolo Blahniks and a brand new Ferrari. The Wynn Esplanade offers a unique shopping environment with designer boutiques including Chanel, Christian Dior and Oscar de la Renta. The resort also houses the Penske Wynn Ferrari Maserati dealership and showroom. Finally, a little known but distinguishing feature of Wynn Las Vegas (and Encore) is that the majority of its amenities -- from the restaurants, bars and nightclubs to the spa, golf course and numerous retail venues -- are owned and operated by Wynn Resorts. Run from top to bottom, this enables higher standards of service to be set. So the fine dining, swanky shops, rejuvenating spa and thriving nightclub are truly one-of-a-kind experiences here. -- Staff Report

Discover the days of yore on your Vegas vacation. The Excalibur endeavors to re-create the Middle Ages, a time filled with adventure and enchantment. Centrally located amid all the action at the southern end of the Strip, the storybook-like fortress boasts a drawbridge and moat. Other medieval touches can be spotted throughout the architecture and décor, such as turreted towers, stone columns, wood paneling and candle chandeliers. The Excalibur is perfect for families because they can let their young ones act like knights and fair ladies. The Fun Dungeon is among the themed activities. It's packed with carnival-style games. The expansive pool area has a thrilling waterslide -- as well as 17 decked-out cabanas for parents. After dark, everyone can attend the "Tournament of Kings," where they'll experience the gallantry and equestrian feats from one of the tales about King Arthur. The arena is spectacular, and in addition to cheering on your knight, there is a three-course dinner to be eaten with your fingers.Opened in 1990, the castle has undergone extensive "modernization" to appeal to singles and mature travelers without kids. Additional entertainment offerings are definitely geared toward grown-ups. Women will go crazy for the hot Thunder from Down Under troupe (the men strip off nearly everything onstage!). Plus, disco aficionados will revel in the rich vocal harmonies at "The Australian Bee Gees Show."Only a fabled resort can bring you dining beyond the ordinary. For gourmet fare, the Excalibur features The Steakhouse at Camelot. A Zagat Award winner, this steakhouse prepares fine cuts of beef, fresh seafood and decadent desserts. Enjoy Old World hospitality and family-style service at the beloved Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo. All ages can indulge in the bountiful Excalibur Buffet. Johnny Rockets serves favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner including hamburgers, fries and premium ice cream shakes. Or grab quick, casual meals in the Castle Walk Food Court. Extremely large at 25,000 square feet, it's home to Schlotzsky's, Cinnabon, Hot Dog on a Stick, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Pick Up Stix, Schlotzsky's, Tropical Smoothie Café, Auntie Anne's Soft Rolled Pretzels, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Popcornopolis. The over-21 crowd will have a blast at Dick's Last Resort. It's perfect for nightlife-loving visitors. The bar and stage in there are always rocking, and when guests get hungry they can turn to a menu of pub grub complete with Macho Nachos, Mumbo Jumbo Chicky Wings and the Big Ass Burger. Or spend a high-energy night in the Octane Lounge, a classic rock bar with a display of custom-designed motorcycles. Among the signature drinks are the Blood, Sweat & Gears Cosmo and the High Octane Kiss, served by bartenders dressed in black leather. The resort's casino floor has also assumed a party-like vibe. On the weekends an area dubbed "The Party Pit" features table games set near a stage topped with scantily clad dancing girls. And the 12-table poker room hosts a sexy "Strip Poker Tournament" on Saturday nights, where guests can watch a lovely lady remove items of her clothing on losing hands. The Lounge, also located on the casino floor, features Miami all-girl band Dollface who perform a variety of music styles from pop to punk.Staying at the Excalibur is not about roughing it. Most of the rooms have been renovated and offer a contemporary take on castle-themed accommodations. The widescreen rooms come with granite countertops, 42-inch plasma TVs, pillow-top mattresses and iPod-compatible clock radios. Even the standard rooms are very comfortable with wood furnishings, cable TVs and hair dryers.Need a bit of pampering? Everyone can be a king or queen for the day at The Spa at Excalibur. Overlooking the pool area, it provides a selection of massages, facials, scrubs and wraps and uses Aveda products exclusively in its treatments. And romance never goes out-of-date at the Excalibur. The Canterbury Wedding Chapel is cherished by couples who wish to celebrate their big day traditionally or in medieval attire. If your family or friends are looking to get away from it all, the Excalibur promises endless activity for all ages -- while still being a child-friendly haven. With an ideal location on the Strip as well as a tram that connects it to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay, the Excalibur is a good-quality, value-oriented resort. In fact, if a trip to the real castles of England is out of your price range, then a visit here will more than suffice.-- By Renée LiButti
