Ladies and gentlemen, let us take you back to the golden age of Las Vegas. The days of the Rat Pack, smooth jazz music and classic glamour. The days when nightclubs were swanky lounges and the performers were your friends. Let us transport you to a time where the Las Vegas showgirl was the apex of beauty and actually being a showgirl was an honor in and of itself.Sounds like a pretty good time, doesn't it? Well it is and lucky for all of us, Donn Arden’s "Jubilee" is the legacy of those glorious days in full splendor six nights a week at Bally's Las Vegas. This extravagant production, which debuted in 1981, oozes every bit of glitz and class that it did in its heyday. It maintains the authenticity of Donn Arden's original vision through preserving the dance numbers and strutting original costumes and jewelry. Watching this show is equivalent to hopping back into history via a time machine.Having outlasted every showgirl production in Vegas, "Jubilee" is not only the longest-running show in Vegas, but is also the one of the few shows left in the world with authentic showgirls.Yes, you're thinking correctly – feather-clad, diamond-drenched, bust-bearing, beautiful showgirls. Touting a cast of nearly 100 professionally trained, long-legged showgirls and showboys who kick, dance, sing and shimmy their way through 95 minutes of continuous over-the-top numbers, "Jubilee" doesn't leave a single detail out.Performed on a stage that is considered to be among the most technologically advanced in the world (oh, and it's half the size of a football field), "Jubilee" is known for grand set pieces such as the scaled replica of the Titanic, Samson and Delilah props and the award-worthy finale staircase that you simply must see.In addition to the incredible dancers, "Jubilee" features three singers who entertain the audience with top-notch vocal numbers to allow for costume and set changes (there are 11 full-scale costume changes seamlessly woven into the show.)While the original dance numbers are still performed in the show, a few additions have been implemented in order to keep the production fresh and retain its longevity. By adding advance technology such as larger sound systems, projection features and a couple popular music tracks, "Jubilee" has not changed, rather, like a fine wine (or George Clooney), it has only gotten better with time.   Furthermore, "Jubilee" is one of the only shows on the Strip that offers exclusive backstage tours to the curious. Giving individuals a rare and in-depth look behind the scenes and into the history of the dressing, costume and set rooms, the hour-long backstage tour is led by one of the seasoned dancers before the show that evening. Not only is this tour neat, but you'll be able to appreciate the show and the effort of the dancers when you learn things like the weight of some of those iconic headpieces… the heaviest weighs in at a whopping 25 pounds.Whether you're looking for nostalgia's elixir or interested in shaking hands with Vegas for the first time, it's always a sure bet when you're betting on the timeless classic and sparkling entertainment gem that is "Jubilee."
