Look for the graceful towers of glittering gold and you'll spot Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay. It soars 43 stories above the southern end of the Strip. Formerly THEhotel, it's undergone a massive renovation that's touched almost every aspect of the property. Known for providing a boutique experience, Delano Las Vegas oozes style and sophistication. From the moment you pass through the dramatic stone entryway, your eyes will take in beautiful sights that offer a sense of serenity and harmony. A wood-slatted gate. A massive divided boulder. White sheers dropping from the ceiling in columns. As you head toward the registration desk, following a hallway of black matte stone where an ethereal light pours in, you'll know you're not in Kansas anymore.  A non-smoking resort, Delano Las Vegas has 1,117 one-bedroom suites, each measuring at least 725 square feet. The white décor creates the feeling of a serene oasis. Among the amenities are 46-inch flat-screen Samsung TVs, media hubs, Keurig coffeemakers and spa-style baths.A wonderful culinary and nightlife experience awaits you at Mix restaurant and lounge, set atop the Delano Las Vegas. Internationally acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse is the man behind its nouveau French menu, which includes classic Franco-American dishes with global accents, like the seared duck foie gras, lobster Caesar salad and pepper-crusted bison tenderloin. Delano Las Vegas also features a unique "coffee retreat" called 3940 Coffee + Tea. Open from the morning until early evening, you'll discover everything from breakfast and quick bites to artisanal teas. Two items not to be missed are the croissant/donut and the Nutella and raspberry crêpes.Della's Kitchen, located near the lobby, has a farmhouse-meets-urban kitchen atmosphere. It serves a blend of decadent comfort food and healthy specialties utilizing locally sourced ingredients. In addition to a fresh juice program, Della's Kitchen has its own greenhouse so the salads -- like the Tuscan kale -- are truly fresh and inspired. Other signature dishes include the carne asada huevos rancheros, the duck panini and the braised kurobuta pork shank.Franklin, the lobby bar, is another distinctive venue in Delano Las Vegas. With its charming firefly light installation hanging above, you'll be more than happy to sit back and sip on creative craft cocktails or savor small bites like Cubano sliders. In late-night hours the vibe at Franklin transforms into a club-like atmosphere with DJs spinning eclectic beats. When you're ready to pamper yourself from head to toe, the Bathhouse Spa has 12 treatment rooms, exotic baths, pools of varying temperatures and a lovely waterfall. Massages, facials and body wraps are among the services offered. Showcased on the menu is a collection of "Global Journeys," exquisite rituals from far-off places like India and other countries in Asia.Guests of Delano Las Vegas will always have complete access to Mandalay Bay, the massive 3,309-room resort that directly adjoins it, via a hallway that exits into the Mandalay Bay Theatre's lobby. Its convenience for businesspeople is unrivaled -- as the Mandalay Bay Convention Center boasts 1.7 million square feet of meeting space. Delano Las Vegas is also within walking distance of a premium retail complex (The Shoppes at Mandalay Place), a diverse collection of trendy restaurants and bars (from Fleur by Hubert Keller and RM Seafood by Rick Moonen to Eyecandy and the House of Blues) and a number of major tourist attractions (Shark Reef). Plus, afternoons can be spent soaking up the sun at Mandalay Bay Beach, an 11-acre paradise-like pool complex, Moorea Beach Club or Daylight Beach Club.Connected to one of the busiest and most multifaceted properties in Las Vegas, Delano Las Vegas provides the best of all worlds for upscale leisure and business travelers -- peace and comfort in an exclusive setting with easy access to all the action the city is celebrated for. Noted for its high standards in design and guest indulgence, Delano Las Vegas is the epitome of modern luxury in Las Vegas.-- By Renée LiButti

Great Hotel!
PostedSeptember 8, 2013
We loved being on the quiet end of the strip because it's very easy to walk to everything (there's a connecting walkway or tram all the way to the Excalibur hotel). The staff was very helpful and nice, the hotel itself is GORGEOUS. The room was great except a couple of little things that annoyed like an armrest came off on the chair & room looked a tad tad dated (nothing crazy, it's a really nice room); we were in 23-801 and the strip view was slightly blocked by the part of the hotel that juts out more in front. BUT we had a good view and for the price, $600 each for 4 nights hotel and flight, we are NOT complaining. Pool had no shade we burn easily so we went to the Aria Spa and for $35 each spent a great day there with some outdoor chairs and a little pool and indoor hot tubs and great amenities. All in all, I would definitely do it again! :)
