We sometimes throw around the term “affordable.” But that doesn’t mean cheap. South Point is less expensive mainly because of its location. South of major hotels like Mandalay Bay, South Point is still on Las Vegas Boulevard, making it just a short car ride away from your favorite attractions. But South Point really makes use of its extra space with its chief attraction, the revered Equestrian Complex.Hosting riding and rodeo events year-round in a 4,600 seat arena with 1,200 climate-controlled horse stalls, the complex is sure to make equine aficionados feel right at home. And if you’re a seriously hardcore rodeo fan, you just might recognize the giant statue of local gaming maverick Benny Binion on horseback situated near the entry--a simple tribute to the man who brought the National Finals Rodeo to Las Vegas.Though the Equestrian Complex is the likely the biggest draw, South Point has plenty of entertainment for those who just think horses are pretty but don’t really want to get close enough to smell them. The hotel is home to a 16-screen movie theater, a fine bingo room and a 64-lane bowling center. And the Showroom at South Point features a variety of singers, bands and comedians. And, like practically every inch of South Point, those spots can all involve some drinks. It could be said that the casino floor is a really just a mall of bars. In fact, we’re actually going to say it. If you tried to get a shot and a beer at everyone one of them you’d probably get kicked out for drunkenly doing something stupid around the fourth one. So don’t try that. Pick a couple and have a fun night. The Malibu Bar and Island Bar serve up tropical spirits, while the Lobby Bar is a focal gathering point in the heart of the casino. The Silverado Lounge offers a classic, Old West ambiance with a wood-paneled bar and overstuffed chairs. By the race and sports book, the Del Mar Lounge is a great spot for a cold beer during the game, and the Grandview Lounge at the southern end of the casino has a "Cheers"-like vibe and often hosts dance bands on weekend nights. And be sure to get some food in you before you drink.Michael's, throughout its 20-year history, has won accolades for the excellent filet mignon, sirloin steak and seafood preparations. Meat lovers looking for a more casual setting with equally succulent cuts can try the Silverado Steakhouse or Primarily Prime Rib. Exotic cravings are filled with the freshly made pastas in Don Vito's and south-of-the-border favorites at Baja Miguel's. The Asian restaurant Zenshin serves the freshest sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls -- including their Vegas-themed 777, Double Down Salmon and Jackpot Rolls. For quick ways to appease your hunger pangs in between hands of poker and other casino play, try the Coronado Café or the Garden Buffet, which offers six live cooking stations. The Del Mar Deli is a fabulous spot for New York-style soups, sandwiches and decadent desserts. Plus, the beloved Midwestern chain Steak 'n Shake, known for its "steakburgers" and hand-dipped shakes, opened its first Las Vegas location inside the South Point. Between the abundant food and drinks and all that space to let your horse run around and fetch sticks or whatever it is horses do that make them so entertaining, South Point is an equestrian’s dream. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a fun place to get dinner, hang out at a bar and do a little gambling away from the confines of the Strip. Plus it’s affordable. And we all know what that means -- more money for drinks.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Vegas! Everything about this place was top notch! The food is excellent at the buffet as well as the room service!
The rooms are spotless and the bed is soooo comfy!
Would definitely go back to Vegas and would also stay at the South Point again! Had a GREAT time! :o)

Location, location, location. If that's what you're looking for in a hotel, then Harrah's is for you.The hotel is pretty much dead center on the Las Vegas Strip. Walk across the street and see all the attractions at Caesars Palace and The Mirage. Head next door and you’ll be at The LINQ Promenade, which features shops, restaurants and The High Roller, the world’s largest observation wheel. (Hint: If you really like looking at the massive observation wheel, book one of the High Roller view rooms at Harrah's.)Convenience is also key at Harrah's. It’s home to a Las Vegas Monorail station, which means you can easily access all parts of the Strip, and it provides free shuttles to the nearby Rio hotel. With all of the fun going on at Harrah's, chances are you might not want to travel too far from the hotel though.Harrah's is home to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill, where you can find live country music and dancing to go along with your fried bologna sandwich.Do your best Billy Joel impersonation and sing along with the crowd at the Twins Dueling Pianos show at Piano Bar. Or take the mic yourself for TJ's Karaoke Party. Just be aware that what happens here might end up on You Tube.Head outside and follow the sounds of raucous partying to Carnaval Court where you'll find flair bartenders, live music and lots and lots of creative cocktails.Want to impress your date? Take them to Ruth's Chris Steak House, which has unparalleled views of the Strip and signature cuts of USDA Prime steak, broiled in an 1,800-degree oven. The 24-hour Fulton Street Food Hall also offers a ton of options ranging from indulgent bakery-fresh pastries to homemade soups, artisanal sandwiches, made-to-order sushi and seven different types of pizzas.Entertainment is always on the menu at Harrah's as well. Since 2000, magician Mac King has been mystifying as well as cracking up audiences of all ages in the afternoons. If you'd prefer to be keeled over in laughter in the evenings, get tickets to see "Menopause The Musical", Improv Comedy Club or Rita Rudner. And you can rock out to "Million Dollar Quartet," the hit Broadway musical about the night Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley performed together at Sun Records Studio. No Vegas resort would be complete without a casino and Harrah's has 87,000 square feet of gaming fun. You'll find video poker, slots, table games and more. Before you gamble, just be sure to find "The Greenbacks" and take a photo with them for good luck. Trust us, you can't miss the statue of gaudily-dressed tourists Winnie and Buck along with their dog Chip. They're dripping in all the cash they just won and hopefully you will be too.

if I stay at harrah's in Las Vegas is there a charge for parking my car

No! No hotels charge for parking. You can park at any "self-service parking" lot you can find. It doesn't matter where you stay either, you can park at ANY hotel for free! :o)
