New York - New York, on the south end of the beautiful Las Vegas Strip, is your vacation from your vacation planning. MGM Resorts took all the best things about the Big Apple, chucked all the things that make even New Jersey cringe, and turned the city that never sleeps into the hotel and casino that never disappoints. From the shadow of the half-sized Statue of Liberty, you'll feel like you've reach a new world – one that's admittedly less "lift my lamp beside the golden door" and more "OMG look at all that chocolate!"There are a lot of things we could describe first at NY-NY, but… chocolate. Hershey's Chocolate World is like the heaven a child would create if they had magical powers for a day. Full of Hershey's candy bars, Reese's peanut butter cups and pieces, jumbo-sized Hershey's chocolate and strawberry syrup bottles, an entire wall full of Hershey's Kiss dispensers, an 800-pound replica of the Statue of Liberty carved from Hershey's Milk Chocolate and probably a bunch of blood sugar spikes and/or promises to work off the extra calories at the gym for the next month, this is one spot no chocolate lover can miss. And just inside the casino floor is the Chocolate Bar which is like the heaven that same child would make once they grew up and discovered vodka. But there's a lot more at NY-NY to appreciate than just the chocolate. The Bar at Times Square is a quaint and clever establishment featuring dueling pianos and the type of atmosphere you see in sitcoms set in New York but would probably miss out on if you actually went there. It's the perfect introduction to the Village Street Eateries set into a charming New York style neighborhood setting, as well as the nearby Gallagher's Steakhouse. Several shops like Stupidiotic, Swatch and I Love NYNY link right to the promenade on Las Vegas Boulevard. And just next to the shops lies a true NY-NY Las Vegas experience.Nine Fine Irishmen already has an appealing name – who doesn't love an Irish lad? But what really makes this emerald establishment extraordinary is the atmosphere. Like an ode to the Irish heritage of old New York, the building was actually assembled in Ireland and shipped to the United States. So there's a fun fact to reiterate to people over and over after you've had a few too many whiskeys. Featuring classic Irish beers on a tap and a food menu that'll put a swing in your shillelagh, Nine Fine Irishmen is a gorgeous bar with an inviting demeanor and a fascinating history that we don't have time to tell right now.Once you've tossed back a few pints, take a ride on the Big Apple Coaster. Maybe reverse the order on those activities if you want to minimize your chances of throwing up. Zip past hotel room windows and get a view of the Las Vegas Strip that no other roller coaster can match. It's the most fun you can have swinging around the Chrysler building without being Spider-Man.As if that weren't enough to take your breath away, Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil is perhaps the hottest show in town that doesn't involve a strip club and a lie to your wife. The show is an exploration of sexuality through performance, acrobatics, dancing, comedy and all the extreme athleticism you'd expect from Cirque du Soleil. A stream of vignettes, each character embraces their sexual nature and puts on an obviously adult oriented experience full of passion, lust and a whole lot of fun. From the skyline and the towers to the bars and the best shows, New York New York has brought to Las Vegas everything you could want from the Empire City. We may not be able to give you ocean views, but once you see the sun set over the mountains you won't miss the waves. And if you ever do feel nostalgic for that other New York, just stop into one of the bars and have the bartender make you mean Manhattan.

Hitzville The Show is a nostalgia-filled trip through the Motown hits of yesteryear. Vocalist Jin-Jin Reeves, along with backup singers and the five-piece Hitzville band, fills Planet Hollywood's V Theater with an authentic Motown sound and experience that will have you clapping your hands and dancing in the aisles.Hitzville is a journey through the times and places that made Motown famous, opening up with The Pips' classic "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," and going through different acts, going from one influential Motown band to the next.Expect famous songs like "My Guy," "Natural Woman" and "What's Love Got to Do With It," along with a few rarer tracks that will make Motown fans very happy.Throughout the show, Reeves evokes the sound and character of Motown's most famous divas, going from Diana Ross to Gladys Knight to Tina Turner (and many others) without missing a beat. This comes as no surprise, as Reeves has shared the stage with many of the performers she covers in "Hitzville." Such energy in a tribute show is rare, but really makes "Hitzville" stand out among the rest.Reeves' backup singers in some of the songs will catch your eye when they come out dressed in red suits when they cover The Temptations, and will continue dazzle each time they come out in colorful attire and appropriate stylings for each new act.The group incorporates appropriate choreography into their acts, mimicking the original groups in both sound and showmanship. From their matching shoes to their side stepping and sliding across the stage, there are times when you'll truly believe you're in an authentic Motown show in the 1960's. This is further enhanced with Reeves' likeness to the divas she's covering. You're in for a treat when she gets to the Tina Turner segment of the show.Make no mistake: you will find yourself dancing along and having a great time at Hitzville.
