The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino has a long history. Here's our condensed version: It originally opened in 1969 as the International Hotel. On that first night Barbra Streisand headlined the showroom, and Elvis Presley appeared on the second night. The King of Rock 'n' Roll, of course, would go on to become synonymous with the property -- even after it became the Las Vegas Hilton in 1971. He performed there in a total of 837 consecutive sold-out shows (before a whopping 2.5 million people), thus breaking all the city's attendance records. So why are we sharing this bit of trivia with you? Well, many people refer to those as the good ol' days. And guess what? They're back again! No, Elvis hasn't come back from the grave. But someone who treasures his legacy and wants to return the hotel to its former glory has the reins. David Siegel, founder and CEO of Westgate Resorts, the world's largest privately owned timeshare company, bought the property in mid 2014 and transformed it into the Westgate Las Vegas. Thanks to Siegel, the King will always have a big role at the resort. A famous statue of Elvis by sculptor Carl Romanelli can be found in "the building" (near the lobby, to be more exact). So what else is unique at the Westgate Las Vegas? You'll love having easy access to the Las Vegas Monorail. The Westgate Las Vegas is located about a block east of the Las Vegas Strip, next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and about a mile from Wynn Las Vegas and Encore. But if you hop on the monorail, you'll be able to travel easily to several major megaresorts including MGM Grand and SLS Las Vegas. During the $100 million dollar hotel renovations, more than 1,000 rooms got a refresh. This includes the Signature guest rooms. New touches include Hollywood-inspired black leather accents, oversized mirrors, art of iconic legends like Marilyn Monroe or James Dean, 60-inch LED flat-screen TVs and much  more. You can also upgrade your hotel stay with access to the Concierge Lounge, which includes made-to-order omelettes, cookies, snacks and an evening cocktail hour with open bar. The Westgate Las Vegas is also revered among race and sports bettors, thanks to the illustrious non-smoking SuperBook. This huge facility is THE place to watch a big game. With more than 400 seats and the largest indoor LED video wall (240 wide and 20 feet tall), you won't miss a moment of the action. Or try sitting in The Ultimate Fan Cave, which is packed with armchairs. A giant New York deli-style sandwich, subs and good grilled stuff is available just a few steps away at the SuperBook Deli.Speaking of eating, the Westgate Las Vegas has a variety of dining choices…some that might even appeal to Elvis. For instance, Sid's Cafe, a 24-hour eatery in the heart of the casino, serves an item called The Elvis Sandwich, made with peanut butter, grape jelly and sliced bananas (plus it's battered and fried!).Ever been to a hibachi-style restaurant? If not, you've got to try Benihana. There's nothing like sitting by the grill, sipping a few cocktails and cheering on the chef who cooks your meal. Teru Sushi (where you can chow down on the Las Vegas Roll) is near Benihana in a lovely complex with waterfalls and a koi pond. You can get a good steak at Edge Steakhouse, served with accompaniments like double cut bacon, lobster tail or king crab. Pair your meal with one of 450 varieties of wine.  Have a big appetite? The spread at The Buffet features flavors from around the world. Or if you desire a quick bite, Fortuna (a coffee and wine bar), Silk Road Noodle Bar and the food court are all good choices. Now if Elvis isn't your thing, don't be blue…entertainment at the Westgate Las Vegas includes Jason Tenner, who performs as Prince in "Purple Reign: THE Prince Tribute," and the sultry topless revue "Sexxy" starring Jennifer Romas.  Situated off the casino floor, the Tempo lounge serves classic cocktails...with a twist (we'll give you a one-word clue: "bev-tainers")! It's also the perfect spot to gather for pre- and post- theater drinks or to dance to a mix of '70s, '80s and '90s hits in the late-night hours. At the Westgate Las Vegas, you'll also find several shops (carrying gifts, apparel and sweets), a fitness room and tennis courts. The newly renovated pool on the third floor features custom cabanas and a pool bar. Or float away in bliss with one of many pampering services at The Spa. One thing to keep in mind if you stay at the Westgate Las Vegas: Since it's part of Westgate Resorts' family of timeshare properties, you'll see a large space (toward the North Tower) dedicated to presentations about the benefits of vacation ownership. You may even be approached by people asking you to attend one.So don't worry, he's just taking care of business -- and molding the resort into one that's fit for a King.

Awesome Resort and Casino and right on the Monorail.
PostedMarch 20, 2014
This is my 2nd time staying here. Ive had nothing but great experience at the LVH. Staff very helpful and Travis is a great person and very helpful with my request. The resort Club is a great thing they offer snacks throught the day and free beer and wine in the afternoon. If you Go Green and not have your room cleaned you recieve $8.00 towards drinks or food which can be saved up to be used before your last day which comes in handy at some of the resturants inside. Its right on the monorail which saves you alot of money going down to the center of the strip. If you stay here you should watch Raiding the Rock vault which is a awesome rock concert. I would recommend anyone to stay here.. Affordable good value and still close enough to everything and a $11.00 taxi ride to down town Fremont..

These are NOT basement guitarists and karaoke wannabees who stumbled out of the garage and onto the stage to play half-decent covers. The cast of Raiding the Rock Vault plays the standards like only real rockers can, because they are real rockers. You know how your college roommate could barely squeak out the "oooooh-oh!" in the first half of "Livin' on a Prayer" and then his voice cracked? There’s absolutely no risk of that at Raiding the Rock Vault. Andrew Freeman (Lynch Mob, The Offspring) and Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot) belt it out like the professionals they are — with power and guts. With Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Robin McAuley (MSG, Survivor) sing, shout and harmonize as they lead the audience through three decades of hits: Hendrix, Zepplin, Queen, Deep Purple, and everything in between. And two female vocalists, Cian Coey (Meatloaf) and Lily Arce, round out the performance. They know exactly what they’re doing: playing the greatest music from the greatest eras in American history, and reminding the fans who grew up to those sounds, that real music never dies. Rock out to Raiding the Rock Vault in Vegas.

In a world full of uncertainties, in Sin City one thing is certain; all you need is love – Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles LOVE,” that is. Packed with action, gravity-defying stunts, and stellar visuals that take us back to the lucid, laced, lava-lamp days of years gone by, LOVE is the grooviest Cirque production of them all.Set to the re-mastered soundtrack of rock ‘n’ roll’s most beloved troupe of storytelling singers, The Beatles (obviously), this show takes you on a musical journey through the wartime era of WWII. And that’s just the music. With acrobatic feats, aerial stunts, and explosive choreography to boot, you won’t have to dust off that old black book to track down your psychedelics dealer; we assure you that your senses will be blown regardless.Performed in a round theater, and with speakers just about everywhere in the venue including in every headrest, this show brings a whole new meaning to surround sound for an unbelievable audio experience. And let’s just take a moment to mention the set. There are buildings, courtyards, a Volkswagen Beatle and more, the sets and props of LOVE are something to fall for on their own.Whether you’re a Beatles fanatic or were born yesterday (FYI babies are not ideal audience members), if you’re human, this is your chance to bust out those bell-bottoms and have a totally righteous night out on the town.

Couch potatoes rejoice! There's now a reason (well five reasons, really) to turn off your TV and come to Vegas! Tune in to your favorite Las Vegas-based reality TV shows in person and possibly even meet the shows' stars on this tour, including "Tanked," "American Restoration," "Counting Cars," "Toy Shack" and "Pawn Stars."TV enthusiasts will spend 30 minutes at each stop, starting with Animal Planet's hit show "Tanked," which dives into the operations of the nation's largest aquarium manufacturing company, Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM). Visit the 13,000-square-foot facility where brothers-in-law Wayde King and Brett Raymer create one-of-a-kind tanks including pyramids, kegs and cars for all sorts of clients, including casinos, churches and celebrities.Next you'll experience more of the History Channel's most popular shows with exclusive stops at the garages from "American Restoration" and " "Counting Cars." This is the only reality TV tour that stops at these locations. Metal artist Rick Dale, his teenage son and the staff at Rick's Restorations take rusty, old items like slot machines and gas carts and magically return them to their original luster. Cruise by "Pawn Stars" regular Danny Koker's automobile restoration and customization company, Count's Kustoms, home to the show "Counting Cars." And ogle collectible toys like vintage Hot Wheels and Transformers at The Toy Shack, owned by "Pawn Stars" toy expert Johnny Jiminez. Finally, visit the home of the History Channel's top-rated show, "Pawn Stars," featuring the family-run Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. You may even rub elbows with one of the show's stars such as Rick Harrison, Richard "Old Man" Harrison, Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison and Austin "Chumlee" Russell. The shop itself is packed with thousands of interesting items, from artwork by famous artists to Super Bowl rings.Note: The opportunity to meet and greet the shows' stars is not guaranteed. Inside tours depend upon filming schedule. Rick's Restorations is closed on Saturday so guests will stop at the non-traditional car customization shop Welder Up instead, home of the Discovery Channel television show "Vegas Rat Rods." Owner Steve Darnell designs award-winning rat rods which have been featured in national publications like Hot Rod Magazine, Diesel World Magazine and Rat Rod Magazine.
