Guests of Palace Station will enjoy an extensive array of amenities during their stay as well as a prime location just west of the Las Vegas Strip. This laid-back resort is also conveniently situated next to the I-15. Built in 1976 on 38 acres and originally opened as "The Casino," it became Palace Station, the flagship property for the Station Casinos empire, in 1991. Although the resort has undergone various renovations, including the addition of a 21-story room tower, it's kept a down-to-earth vibe, making it ideal for travelers on a budget who are seeking a good hotel value. The rooms and suites at Palace Station are outfitted for comfort, with things like cable TVs, hair dryers and wireless internet access. An outdoor pool with a hot tub, a fully equipped fitness center, a business center, a gift shop and a courtesy airport/Strip shuttle will also enhance your vacation experience. From classic to ethnic, guests can indulge their taste buds with a wide range of restaurants. The Charcoal Room, a classic American steakhouse, is where you can savor things like oysters on the half shell, lobster chowder, bone-in New York steak, rib eye, top sirloin and an outstanding porterhouse. Cabo Mexican Restaurant has a fun salsa bar and serves a menu of authentic flavors from south of the border. And the Oyster Bar is an 18-seat, live-action kitchen preparing freshly shucked oysters, steamed clams and homemade seafood pastas. For quick meals, Palace Station boasts the cheerful Grand Café, the all-you-can-eat Feast Buffet, the Food Express Chinese Restaurant, four fast food eateries (Subway, Johnny Rockets, Bonanno's New York Pizzeria and Starbucks) and 24-hour room service.Lively evenings can be spent in Jack's, a pub and sports bar. Local bands also play here several nights a week. The Traxx Bar and Trackside Bar are two more fine spots for cocktails -- including the beloved 99-cent margarita. The casino floor is always busy at Palace Station. You'll find plenty of action in the bingo hall, keno lounge or race and sports book, which boasts 230 seats and 44 large video screens. There's a nonsmoking poker room along with numerous table games and more than 1,600 slot and video poker machines. The resort is unique in that it has an Asian table games area, where guests can try their luck at pai gow tiles and both mini and midi baccarat.Ideal for meetings and special celebrations, Palace Station also features more than 20,000 square feet of event space. It's equipped with state-of-the-art amenities including projectors, DVD players and other technological devices. Catering and other services are available as well.Palace Station is within walking distance of several other restaurants and a short drive from downtown and the Strip -- putting guests near the epicenter of all the big happenings in Las Vegas.

Arizona Charlie's Boulder may be a bit off the beaten path, but the hotel offers affordable rates, bargain dining and all of the gaming you'd find in a major hotel.Arizona Charlie's Boulder is a small property located about 10 miles from the Strip and McCarran Airport on Boulder Highway on the east side of Las Vegas. It's ideal for those wanting to stay away from the crowds on the Strip or stopping in Vegas on their way to or from Arizona. This is also one of the few Vegas hotels to still offer an RV park.Despite its smaller size, the casino still has plenty of ways for you to try to win big. Place a bet on your favorite team in the race and sports book and then sit back in one of 16 armchairs to watch the action. There are also table games, slot machines and video poker machines. And get your daubers ready for the 24-hour bingo room.Arizona Charlie's Boulder serves up a variety of dining options. Stop in the Sourdough Cafe for their famous steak and eggs and for other affordable meals. Pretty much everything on the menu is under $15. For a steakhouse experience head to Yukon Grille where you'll find fresh seafood, filet mignon, rotisserie duck, rack of lamb and more. The Wild West Buffet boasts a large dining room and a buffet packed with seafood, pastas, prime rib, salads and desserts. If you're in a hurry, grab a sandwich and specialty coffee at Charlie's Cheesesteak Deli. While Arizona Charlie's doesn’t have any crazy nightclubs there's the Elbow Creek Bar where you can get a good drink and the Palace Grand Lounge where you can catch live music. The hotel is ideal for people traveling with recreational vehicles. It has an adjacent RV park with more than 200 spaces of all sizes. There's also a clubhouse with a large TV, a pool table, fitness equipment and laundry facilities. Arizona Charlie's also has a swimming pool and hot tub that are open seasonally.

You know that friend who’s really afraid of heights? Stratosphere is probably not the place to take them. But once you’ve ditched them in the casino, at the Level 8 Pool or the Tower Pizzeria & Creamery, let yourself enjoy the ride up to the biggest attraction at Stratosphere. At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower makes every other structure in the city awkwardly explain that they’re just cold or nervous. Since it extends to such a great height, it's visible from nearly every vantage point in Las Vegas. But those sights are nothing compared to the view from the top. In less than 40 seconds, high-speed elevators pull you upward like you’re already on a thrill ride. You can’t see out, which is probably a good thing since you wouldn’t want to be stuck in an elevator with the one person who couldn’t handle it. But thanks to the attentive and explanatory elevator operators, you’ll have plenty of information to take your mind off the fact that you’re shooting upward at 25 ft/s. (Yeah, we did math.)Once you get to the top, you’ve got lots of options depending on how intense you are. If you’re quite calm, Top of the World restaurant, one of Las Vegas' premier gourmet rooms serves sophisticated cuisine impeccably paired with wine and complemented by a 360-degree view of the city. The floor actually makes a complete rotation every 80 minutes. The place is so romantic they even offer special Proposal Packages. And for casual people who enjoy a cocktail, Level 107 Lounge overlooks Top of the World and Air Bar is literally the highest bar in Vegas. For people just slightly more daring, the Observation Deck offers indoor and outdoor viewing of Fabulous Las Vegas and is the perfect place to sit and wait for the friends you politely refer to as “adventurous” as they enjoy themselves. For some reason Stratosphere decided, “Hey, let’s put thrill rides on top of the tallest structure in the city. That’s a good idea.” So that’s exactly what they did. And it’s totally a good idea. There are currently four ways to test your resolve: X-Scream (A teeter totter that gets its jollies by dangling people off a building), Big Shot (A ride that takes you even higher into the air then drops you harder than a dubstep DJ drops the beat), Insanity (Like your childhood merry-go-round if it were jacked up on Four Loco and Spike TV), and SkyJump (It’s just jumping off the top of the building and trusting a cable to slow you down--because parachutes are for babies). We could give you warnings about trying these, but we can already tell that if you’re the type of person who’s already excited then nothing will talk you out of the ride. And you’re also probably the type of person whose main reason for not wanting to die is the fear of your family going through your stuff. But for the rest of who have self-control and a healthy fear response, Stratosphere also has more grounded appeal."Pin Up" is a sexy and sultry stage show starting Claire Sinclair and was choreographed by Lacey Schwimmer of "Dancing with the Stars." Fellini's Ristorante Italiano Preparing excellent pasta and other Italian delights. Singing for your supper is all the rage at Roxy's Diner as the wait staff in this nostalgic restaurant often put on a show to accompany their old-fashioned home cooking. And McCall's Heartland Grill has a hearty mix of steak and seafood in a Midwestern-style restaurant.Add to all that The Buffet, the pool with poolside café, Roni Josef International Salon & Spa and Tower Shops with 32 stores that replicate street scenes from iconic shopping cities like Paris and New York and you can see that Stratosphere is much more than a tower. That said, the tower is still pretty awesome.Stratosphere is close enough that you can catch a cab or shuttle to the rest of the Strip (we don't recommend walking), when you’re finished surveying it from the observation deck of course. And complete enough that you won’t have to leave if you don’t want to. It may not be for the acrophobic, but Stratosphere, with everything it has to offer and the heights it reaches, is definitely for the people who want to push themselves a little and look over the edge at least once during their Vegas vacation.
