 Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil
Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil
Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil brings another incredible production to the Las Vegas Strip at Aria Resort & Casino. Featuring a 70-member cast of world class acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, and high wire and trapeze artists, Zarkana amazes audiences as the story unfolds (and flips, and jumps, and spins, and.. OK, you get it) before your eyes.Set in a zany alternate universe where bizarre meets arcana (Boom! The phonic parents of Zarkana), a wildly eclectic collection of forgotten circus characters and their jaw-dropping talents explore otherworldly scenarios as their washed up extravaganza comes back to life.Tucked into the surprisingly intimate 1,800-seat Aria Theater, all audience members will feel immersed in the experience… especially when the characters burst through the theater’s imaginary fourth wall to soar above the seats. With comic interjections by the show’s two clowns and an on-stage audience of ghostly members of circuses' past who mingle with the audience throughout the production, you might just feel as if you’re a part of the show yourself…sans the über bendy and flippy parts, which we will leave to the pros (because groin injuries are not ideal).Among the show’s daring acts, audience members will hold their breath while observing the high wire act complete with a swinging pendulum ball of raging fire (you know, since performing tricks on a cable a couple dozen feet in the air isn’t dangerous enough), a flying trapeze routine, in addition to an impressive ladder balancing act. However, you will have plenty of time to dry your sweaty palms and settle your anxiety when taking in beautiful (and less life-threatening) acts of endurance and strength when taking in the aerial straps, hand balancing, sand painting, flag manipulation and juggling acts among others as well. And since every Cirque du Soleil show is performed with the musical aid of a live band, audiences will enjoy an all-encompassing musical experience with a lead singer who has seemingly range-less vocals that hit even the most daunting of notes. In addition to the production’s 12-song soundtrack, there are intricate set changes that transform the stage to complement every act. Multiple layers of LED screens create stunning visuals that transform from an old circus, to outer space, to a snake-infested jungle, to a spider’s web and others scenes that add to the show’s unique visual experience. But back to the audience involvement, we will not tell you exactly what happens, but we will let you know that those clowns we previously mentioned take a little stroll in the audience during the show and do not return to the stage alone. If you’re a female sitting in the first few rows, you just may be selected to join the two comical creatures on stage to help demonstrate their electric chair. Let's just say that sparks definitely fly.In true Cirque du Soleil fashion, “Zarkana” serves audience members a visual treat with seemingly impossible physical feats that blur the line between reality and a wild realm of imagination. So get your glasses, eye drops, tape… whatever will help you keep your eyes open and not blink because this is one production that you will want to catch every second of.

Get ready to clap your hands, stomp your feet and maybe even learn some new dance moves at Human Nature Jukebox. Mixing pop classics with Doo-Wop, Motown, soul standards and more, Human Nature, Australia’s top selling pop vocal group and Las Vegas headliners, is bringing audiences a show experience unlike any other on the Strip. Effortlessly blending retro cool with contemporary sounds, Jukebox takes audiences on an unforgettable journey through various genres.Starting with the classics of the Doo-Wop era, Human Nature pays tribute to the legends of Motown and soul and carries through to today’s breakout sensations. With song selections ranging from "Under the Boardwalk" to "Uptown Funk," the four men of Human Nature will have everyone dancing in their seats and tapping their toes along to the beat.Human Nature's smooth vocals and flawless harmonies have skyrocketed their popularity and success on the Las Vegas Strip for nearly a decade. Together the four entertainers; Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney are undeniably one of the world’s greatest pop-vocal groups, having entertained millions worldwide and releasing 23 best-selling albums in their 25-year career. Their latest multi-platinum album, "Jukebox" is the influence for the brand new show at the Venetian Las Vegas. Human Nature were voted "Best Singers" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and have appeared on Oprah, "Dancing with the Stars," "The Chew" and headlined their own PBS Special "Human Nature Sings Motown."Although audiences in Vegas may not be that familiar with Human Nature, they are one of the most popular acts from Australia. The group formed in 1989 as a Doo-Wop band in Sydney. In 1994 they signed with Sony Music and released their debut album, "Telling Everybody" in 1995. The album was an instant hit, selling four times platinum and became the most successful debut album ever released in Australia. Human Nature released their fourth consecutive No. 1 album, "A Symphony of Hits," in 2008.As a result of their outstanding showmanship, Human Nature has performed as the opening act for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson. In 2000, they had the honor of performing the Australian National Anthem at the Sydney Olympics. During their Vegas show, the members of Human Nature get personal with their audiences and between songs greet audience members and tell stories. They explain since they were young they always aspired to be as great like The Temptations and The Miracles. Part of that inspiration came from the positive message they got from hearing Motown music and then wanting to share that experience with others.Audiences watch the group in awe, mesmerized by their four voices resounding throughout the showroom. There are several moments when Human Nature performs without the band; these songs spotlight each performer's amazing voice and the ability to perform in perfect harmony. Human Nature keeps everyone on their feet and dancing to tunes while they create an entertainment experience with feel-good messages that are found in  timeless songs.Don't miss your chance to catch Human Nature perform at the Venetian.
