A patterned glass facade and a unique crescent shape help set Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas apart from other properties on the Las Vegas Strip. The 57-story, all-suite hotel truly has a sophisticated, international flair. Designed by world-renowned RV Architecture, the non-smoking, non-gaming boutique property offers an exclusive environment with modern amenities and services. Guests feel removed from, yet close to the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Pieces of fine art are showcased throughout, including Frank Stella's 32-foot-long "Damascus Gate Variation I" at the reception desk and Peter Wegner's wall pieces "Day for Night, Night for Day" in Vdara's concierge lobby. Vdara's porte-cochère offers an unparalleled view of Nancy Rubins' 57-foot-wide by 75-foot-long large-scale installation "Big Edge."Sitting atop the porte-cochère, the Pool & Lounge Vdara overlooks the Strip. Complete with daybeds, cabanas and semi-private plunge pools, the deck area is great for relaxation as well as pool parties. With a LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, Vdara demonstrates its commitment to sustainability with initiatives such as coated windows to reflect light and reduce heat transfer into the building. The 18,000-square-foot ESPA is a spa that offers a wide variety of massages, facials and body treatments. Suites have open floor plans featuring limited-edition artwork, fully equipped kitchens and modern technology, including a media hub for MP3 players, cameras, DVD players and game consoles. Horizontal windows allow for natural light and sweeping views of the city and mountains. While guests at Vdara have access to the many amenities of nearby resorts and the Strip -- walkways connect Vdara to the neighboring Bellagio and ARIA Las Vegas -- they also have plenty to enjoy solely at Vdara. They can grab a drink or their morning coffee at Bar Vdara. There is also 16,500 square feet of banquet space on the property for special events, meetings and upscale functions.

Yes, I recommend this product.
great overall, with small annoying flaws
PostedApril 22, 2013
lovely, newish hotel with modern decor in the middle of the strip. we weren't looking for a hotel without a casino, but not having one is definitely a plus.
flaws:
1) internet access. for the $28/day "resort fee", the only thing we used was the wifi. unreliable (would disconnect randomly, and couldn't handle a smartphone and a tablet at the same time) and annoying (forced another window of advertising into my browser each time i connected). it was worse than the freebie wifi at mcdonald's.
2) shower. it smelled mouldy, the valve was adjusted way too hot (scalding at 3/4 setting), and there was too little pressure (ineffective "water saver" shower head, wastes both time AND water).
3) kitchenette. a plus for the room, but had absolutely NO dishes ("available on request"). we requested them, but it wasn't what we were expecting. (minimal kit, 2 sets of plates and cutlery, a couple of pots and a paring knife. and they took away the teaspoons that we used but didn't replace them.) something as simple as a coffee maker would have been nice.
overall, a very nice hotel.

Does the Vdara supply their room kitchens with utensils (forks, spoons, plates) or is there need to shop for your own paper/plastic dining tools?

just phone housekeeping, and they will send it up. but... be specific because they only gave us what we asked for. (2 place settings, a pot, a frying pan, a knife and cutting board, and *nothing* else.) the cafe downstairs has minimal supplies, and the walgreens at the corner of las vegas blvd is probably the nearest "normal" food store.
