What's a pin up calendar without a buxom centerfold? The vintage-inspired show Pin Up stars Claire Sinclair, the 2011 Playboy Playmate of the Year. Throughout the show, the sexy brunette guides the audience month-by-month through a pin up calendar, as the Pin Up dancers, singer and band give an energetic performance. From the swingin' '40s to '60s beachwear, the show offers fans of all things vintage a night of great music, fun dance numbers and sultry singing.Sexy-sweet costumes styled after Rosie the Riveter, a stewardess for Claire Air, halloween, the Fourth of July and other images of Americana allow the dancers to paint pictures of each decade of the pin ups' reign. Sinclair's radiant gowns make a splash. In a couple numbers, Sinclair does a classic striptease, showing off her world-famous curves, leaving little to the imagination. The starlet is not completely topless, but wears custom-made pasties styled after the scene and adorned with about 100 Swarovski crystals. In the Halloween number, her pasties are spiders that crawl from the center of her breasts, while singer Lisa Marie Smith sings "I Put a Spell on You."Like the pin ups of years past, the show is flirty without being dirty.Pin Up, she said in an interview, "you could call it flirty, and now just a little dirty."The dancing is high energy, with a sexy lead male dancer with a smile that melts. He guides the pin ups through the scenes. He twirls them, spins them and even carries Sinclair down a staircase on one shoulder. One of the show's most delightful scenes, Sinclair, in a demure nightie, plays hide-and-seek with an enchanted pillow. In another, the drummer leaves his drum set to play on a platform where a dancer dressed in America's favorite pastime uniform taps in a friendly competition against the drummer. Smith, meanwhile, sings "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."Wearing popular '40s hairdo victory rolls, Smith performs standards and contemporary hits, and scene changes are set to original music that Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno wrote for Pin Up.From January to December, this show is a playful tour through glamorous days gone by. It's more than a little classy and a lot clever.
