An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! The Show” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis JR. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

An old time Las Vegas show
PostedMarch 24, 2013
I liked this show, but would not return a second time. It was pretty inclusive of the past days of old Las Vegas. The entertainers were awesome and VERY talented. I think it may have been limited a little bit by the stage they were on since it was shared by so many other entertainers and thus not as available for creativity of scenery etc. I presume everything had to be portable since it was used by other shows.
However, the talent of the performers was awesome. It also helped immensely that I had front row seats in the center. We could see it all and at several points become a part of the show. Loved it!

Truth is, there’s a Cirque du Soleil production for just about every personality, mood and interest out there. And “KA,” is for the action-loving, adventure-seeking show goers that can appreciate an age-old story of good versus evil. The storyline illustrates the journey of a brother and sister twin duo that becomes separated during a siege of their Far Eastern palace by evil warriors. Yep, this is a royal battle, y’all and they’ve pulled out all the stops. The entire theater is designed to fit the theme so no matter where your gaze takes you, you’ll be looking at the set. But you’re really gonna love this: the stage is made up of two massive moving platforms that not only float, but turn completely vertical. Did you hear that? That was the sound of our minds being blown. And just wait until you see the suspended fight scenes. Also, while it’s insanely cool, not all the stunts are done in the air. The Wheel of Death, for example (ohmagah can you believe they have a Wheel of Death?), is positioned firmly on the ground while the daredevil performer flings himself into dangerous heights, where one misstep could lead to his demise. A story of intense battle, and a question of triumph or defeat to the very end, KA is entertainment on an entirely new level. Forreal.

This show had to be one of my top 5 of all times! It was so well staged and in fact, I do plan to see it again. The seats were excellent and I am excited to return to enjoy the experience again.

My child is 2.5 years old can he attend the show?

He could attend, but would probably not enjoy it...might possibly be frightened by the characters. If it was free for a 2 1/2 year old, maybe yes. Otherwise I am afraid it would be lost on the child.
