Don't expect to see a lot of pirates at Treasure Island. Arrr...we know...the name of the hotel suggests exactly the opposite. But somehow, as the years have gone by, Treasure Island (often referred to as just "the TI") has shed its "Ahoy, matey!" attitude in favor of a more contemporary, adult-oriented outlook. Now that's not to say you won't see things at Treasure Island that bring to mind the world of buccaneers and buried gold. The architecture and exterior of this place -- which includes a beautiful manmade cove, a boardwalk built from wooden planks and a couple of ships that look like they've sailed the high seas -- definitely suggests you're in for a swashbuckling good time. However, even though the pirate theme has been toned down, there are many other good reasons why you should stay here. You don't need a treasure map to tell you that Treasure Island has got an amazing location. And you won't need a car or a taxi to get around...just a pair of sprightly feet. Situated near the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, Treasure Island is connected via a free tram to The Mirage, and it's within walking distance of a handful of must-visit resorts (Wynn Las Vegas, Encore, The Venetian, The Palazzo and Caesars Palace) and four must-shop attractions (the Fashion Show mall, the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian | The Palazzo, The Forum Shops at Caesars and The LINQ Promenade).Treasure Island also boasts really nice rooms. (No hammocks here!) So you'll enjoy fairly luxurious accommodations -- contemporary décor with all the necessary modern amenities -- for a reasonable price (not the cheapest in town but not the most expensive either). And if you splurge on a suite...well, you'll feel like you've plundered the place.Warm weather days at Treasure Island are devoted to sun, swaying palm trees and island foods. Relax on the beach-like pool deck (complete with a 25-person hot tub) and while away a few hours in Kahunaville Tropical Restaurant. You can have a bite of something exotic, like the Fiery Rock Shrimp, or get a drink prepared by a flair bartender at the "Party Bar." There's even a luau-style dinner show called "Island Heat LuWOW."The hub of the activity at the resort occurs near the entrance from Las Vegas Boulevard, where you'll discover several rollicking bars and restaurants. Things get wild and crazy in Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Q. You can drink beer, watch bikini bull riding contests, listen to live bands and line dance. The restaurant specializes in barbecuing (including three different kinds of mouth-watering ribs) and has windows that look out onto the Strip.Señor Frog's is infamous for its party scene in Mexico (and, of course, now at Treasure Island). Along with great south-of-the-border food, it has a spring break-style vibe. Antics such as shots being poured into your mouth, sitting on "butt" stools or dancing on tabletops are highly encouraged...and there are two outside areas in case you just want to chill out.For one heck of a good show, get tickets to "Mystère." It's the longest running permanent Cirque du Soleil production in Las Vegas. Packed with over-the-top props and daring feats of human strength and agility, "Mystère" will blow you away.Need a quick bite? Grab slices of pizza at Pizzeria Francesco's and delicious hot dogs at Little Richie's Chicago-Style Beef and Dogs. For heartier meals in a casual setting, The Coffee Shop and The Buffet at TI are two wonderful options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In addition, you can sit down to a fine, slower-paced meal at Phil's Italian Steak House. Prime cuts of meat (think filet mignon, venison tenderloin, Colorado lamb and chateaubriand) as well as classic Italian specialties are created in its Tuscan wood-fired kitchen. And you'll always find a fresh catch prepared to perfection at the Seafood Shack.A sanctuary for the senses, Oleksandra Spa & Salon offers peace and profound relaxation. Perched on the third floor, you can partake of soothing and revitalizing treatments from around the world -- like Swedish, ayurvedic and Lomi Lomi massages. And if you decide you want to avoid the crowds in the major malls, you can shop up a storm right at Treasure Island. Get everything from jewelry at TI Bling Co. and Bijoux Terner to fragrances at Perfrume Eleven and souvenirs at the Lobby Store and TI Gift Shop. Plus, construction is underway on a new three-story retail center at the northeast corner of the property. It will be anchored by CVS and is scheduled to open in April 2015.So, without being too cliché, the pirate days of yore may have been tossed o'erboard at Treasure Island, but that doesn't matter...because you don't need cannons here to have a blast here.

If you're looking for a place to stay as well as party head to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino where the music never stops (and we aren't talking about boring elevator music) and a good time is practically unavoidable.Located a few blocks east of the Strip, which isn't a far walk but we think cabs are fun too (especially if you've had a few too many drinks), this iconic hotel oozes good times -- from its unparalleled concert venue that has hosted some pretty impressive musical greats and its paradise-esque pool complex to its sleek nightclub, swanky restaurants and super sexy retail offerings it's obvious that this hotel was only partially built for sleeping.Built in 1995, the "old" (we much prefer the term original) Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is as happening as ever and, as a result of an expansion project that concluded in 2010, the property has added a couple of new room towers -- the luxurious Paradise Tower and the all-suite HRH Tower -- as well as several pools and leisure amenities… so it's basically new!Of course, live music reigns supreme at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and The Joint has an incomparable reputation. As far as we know, not many other stages have been graced by KISS, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Incubus, Linkin Park and The Killers, among many others. Following the redesign, this state-of-the-art 4,000-seat facility boasts pristine sound, projection and lighting systems that are so advanced they defy easy description. Simply put, there's no better place in town to see and hear your favorite performers…. unless you get privately serenaded…. And if you do, we want to talk to you.In addition to The Joint, the resort is also home to the smaller and more intimate entertainment venue, Vinyl, which features a variety of entertainment genres including local bands, comedy acts and late-night burlesque. The main nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is Body English. Decorated with lush leather furnishings and giant chandeliers this sensual nightclub is much more than a place for simply dancing – it's a place for dancing, drinking, dancing, and perhaps drinking some more all while you enjoy a brilliant showcase of indie, electronic, rock and pop music. But if clubbing among strangers is not quite what you had in mind, the resort's private venue, Vanity offers yet another unique nightlife experience that can be privately rented for special events and parties. Opulently adorned with a decadent interior of hand-cut crystals, antique mirrors, chrome accents and rich tapestries, this is space is the club equivalent for a one-size-fits-all clothing item… there is a little something for everyone. Those who want to forego the nightclub scene will still be successful in finding that party vibe considering that the entire property is designed with a rockin' time in mind. And if your good time is the same as our good time, which typically includes some cold beverages (or hot, if that's what you're into) then you will probably find yourself among the hotel's two circular bars -- Center Bar in the original Casino Tower and the Luxe Bar in the HRH Tower. And for the sports fanatics out there, you're in luck because those of the rock 'n' roll variety also love a good ball game. If this is you, you can enjoy watching the day's action on countless big-screen TVs spread throughout The Ainsworth -- an elegant nightlife-oriented venue from New York City that serves stellar cocktails and a small menu of upscale American bar foods.During the summer months, you can bring the party outside and soak up the sun and dance without your pants… in your swimsuit obviously... at Rehab, the home of the original Las Vegas pool party. Rehab's weekly Saturday and Sunday events have become legendary. Imagine a throng of bodies in the skimpiest of swimwear sunbathing, drinking and dancing to music spun by popular DJs in a stunning complex that consists of expansive freeform pools, a waterfall, sandy beach areas and kitted-out cabanas. Blackjack and other games are available at swim-up tables and the bartenders are some of the best on The Strip. But if you just want to relax, a more low-key experience in an equally lush landscape can be found at the Nirvana Pool, the Breathe Pool or the pool sanctuary at the Reliquary Spa, which also features a menu of decadent spa treatments from around the world. The dining is as self-indulgent as all other aspects of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Nobu is home to modern Japanese cuisine and Fú offers a unique fusion of Asian fare, while 35 Steaks + Martini combines a classic steakhouse ambiance with sumptuous signature cocktails. For casual eats, there's the ever-popular Pink Taco and everyone's favorite -- locals and visitors alike -- Mr. Lucky's Café, which is famous for its not-so-secret $7.77 special, a six-ounce steak, three shrimp and mashed potatoes, that is not listed on the menu but is common knowledge at this laid-back 24-hour coffee shop. Culinary Dropout, which was opened by Restaurateur Sam Fox, is a swanky drinking and pub grub-style dining spot, conveniently adjacent to the pool where you can indulge in everything from fried chicken and biscuits to the signature After School Special cocktail here. If there was ever a perfect concert set list… we think this is the eatery equivalent. In addition, the retail therapy at the resort is distinctive. The shopping at The Hard Rock provides just the right amount of that rock star flash. Visit Love Jones for lingerie and Rocks The Jeweler for some urban bling as well as John Varvatos for men's wear and the Hard Rock Store for logo gear. However, if you're looking for something a bit more permanent, The Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co. opened up shop at The Hard Rock for those with tatting tendencies. And now, our favorite part of the entire hotel is well… the entire hotel! Decorated with their extraordinary collection of rock 'n' roll memorabilia in frames and shadowboxes that line the walls and hallways throughout the premises, rock 'n' roll is nothing short of revived around every corner of The Hard Rock. It's like going to the coolest music museum in the world and not having to pay a dime for the views. With guitars from icons such as Johnny Cash and Coldplay members (among many others), a drum kit used by Aerosmith and the clothes worn by Fergie, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in their music videos, you will truly feel the rockin' energy within the property. So don't worry, you don't need to find the hair pick and headbands to relive those rock 'n' roll hair days of yours, all you need to do is step into the Hard Rock and let the magic of the surroundings take over.

More than 50 years ago the Flamingo Las Vegas sat all alone in the desert on the road leading to Las Vegas. Today it's in the heart of all the action on the Las Vegas Strip. That's what we call planning ahead. And besides bragging rights, being the longest-running property in the heart of the Strip has other perks too. For example, awesome attractions have been built around the hotel. As a result of a recent remodeling project, the north entrance of the hotel is now connected to The LINQ Promenade. This retail, dining and entertainment district boasts the 550-foot observation wheel called the High Roller. And not only does the hotel and its surroundings attract an exciting crowd around the clock, when compared to many of the other hotels in the area, The Flamingo's rooms offer comfort and luxury at more affordable prices. The laid-back Flamingo invites all visitors and guests to relax island-style...the desert is kind of like an island, right? Sans the ocean and the coconuts, it's easy to feel like you're in a tropical oasis inside of the Miami-esque resort and here's a bonus...it's always five o'clock in the Maragritaville Casino for all of you who think that 10 a.m. is too early to start drinking. Inspired by singer Jimmy Buffett's island-escapism lyrics, the 15,000-square-foot casino located in the front end of the Flamingo features palm trees, tropical colors, bikini-clad cocktail waitresses, and the shack-style Margaritaville 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar.Among the themed décor, a friendly poker room is tucked next to the lobby in addition to a race & sports book that makes sure all of the games are the center of attention so you don't miss a beat. Unless of course you become distracted by the sexy party pit on the gaming floor where a sexy pole dancer in a cage hovers above scantily-clad female dealers manning pink felt-covered blackjack tables located next to the open-air entrance near The Cromwell.Conveniently located just steps away from other popular hotels, The Flamingo's location acts like a central hub to partying. But for those resorts that are a bit too far to walk to, there's a Las Vegas Monorail station on the premises, so you'll have access to several other resorts along the Strip. If you're anything like us, you're either wishing you were gambling and drinking breezy booze beverages or eating...and both of those things can be done at the casino's multi-level Margaritaville restaurant, which boasts two patios overlooking the Strip, a huge retail store, and even a dance floor. Raucous sights and sounds are all around this eatery and not only is the place buzzing with Buffett's greatest island tunes, but there are waitresses who slide down from the top of the three-story Volcano Bar and land in a 300-gallon blender of margarita mix. No, you didn't skip a paragraph; you're still reading about Margaritaville, it's a land of its own! However, if you're not quite ready to "...waste away again in Margaritaville" or if you've simply given up looking for that damn salt shaker, there are plenty of other dining options for a relaxing, casual meal at the expansive food court. Or there is always Center Cut Steakhouse and Carlos'n Charlie's restaurant and bar where they are known for overflowing spirits, which often lead to impromptu dancing on the tables and chairs in the restaurant's expansive indoor dining room and an outdoor patio.Once you've eaten enough and properly prepared yourself for the night ahead, the party vibe can be found in the Flamingo Showroom. The musical, brother and sister duo Donny and Marie Osmond host an extravaganza presenting their greatest hits. (Note: Fans can view costumes from their TV stints on "Dancing with the Stars" and Donny's mirrored disco ball trophy in the exhibit cases near the lobby). When Donny and Marie aren't in town, Olivia Newton-John headlines the showroom. You can also catch the celebrity impersonators of "Legends in Concert" in the afternoons so that in the late evening hours, you can stop by the sexy X Showroom, where men will get all hot and bothered by the beautiful dancers in "X Burlesque" while women can get hot and bothered too and/or they can learn the secrets to the cast's sexy moves at XBU - X Burlesque University.Another major attraction at the Flamingo is the Wildlife Habitat. The hotel's grounds are home to pink Chilean flamingos, wood ducks, koi, turtles and other fascinating creatures. While your wandering through the grounds, keep an eye out for a plaque dedicated to Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, the mobster who helped launch the Flamingo in 1946. Also amid the 15 acres of lush greenery lie the resort's spectacular pools. The main pools are interconnected and feature lagoon areas, a seasonal waterslide, a meandering river and cascading waterfalls. For a trendy dayclub experience, visitors will want to check out the Go Pool (open during summer only), where the guest DJ gets the party started and keeps it going all day long for guests reveling in chaise lounges, daybeds and VIP cabanas.  Also outside are the enchanting garden and gazebo wedding chapels where you and your honey can tie the knot and start your happily ever after at the hotel's luxurious spa. With a full menu of delicious body treatments, The Spa offers a myriad of services for your pampering pleasure.

Who says you have to be a celebrity to be treated like one? Well, in real life, to experience that celebrated lifestyle of the rich and the famous you usually do actually have to be rich and famous. However, Las Vegas is certainly not real life and at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, it doesn’t matter if you’re the star of a box office hit or a no-name chorus member in a Broadway wannabe flop, you will be treated as an A-lister.Shining in the spotlight of the Las Vegas Strip, Planet Hollywood boasts gourmet restaurants, world-class shopping and headline-generating entertainment giving hotel guests a famous experience with everything but a mob of paparazzi.Rebuilt from the ground up in 1998, the former Aladdin now Planet Hollywood has evolved with the times. Once so chic that Elvis and Priscilla Presley got hitched in the hotel, and still hot enough today for celebrities to make regular appearances just for the sake of hanging out.Though infused with a taste of Hollywood culture, the vibe at Planet Hollywood is intended to be welcoming and unpretentious. Who knows, you might even find yourself sitting down to play blackjack next to Jack Black or Poker with Lady Gaga… OK, that was a terrible “Poker Face” joke.Adorned with film memorabilia showcased in custom-designed cabinetry, every element of the hotel takes on a star-studded theme. The 12,800-square-foot lobby at Planet Hollywood has eight chandeliers -- each composed of 66,000 individually hand-strung crystals -- black granite floors, textured glass walls, and large columns that all beckon guests to the check-in desk, where bands of LED lights continuously change color. Since gaming is usually more fun than checking in, an escalator from the lobby (which is below street level) whisks guests up into the 100,000-square-foot casino that is seemingly in constant motion with glowing rectangular light fixtures that dance through a series of party-starting colors. Here you will find a sea of slot machines, 87 game tables, an expansive race and sports book, and a secluded poker room are ready for you to stop by and try your luck.If all of the gaming strikes up an appetite, take your winnings and grab a bite to eat at one of Planet Hollywood’s many restaurants. For those with a big appetite, head to the Spice Market Buffet or choose from the large menu at the 24-hour coffee shop Planet Dailies. Upstairs on the mezzanine level, Strip House redefines the traditional steakhouse with an innovative menu in a sexy, vintage atmosphere, while Koi, a well-recognized L.A. restaurant and lounge, combines the exotic Far Eastern aura with the energy and style of Hollywood. Celebrate L.A. street food with a stop at Pink's Hot Dogs. Their location here is the only spot outside of Hollywood where you can enjoy their famous hot dogs. On the casino level, Earl of Sandwich makes sandwich eating a gourmet treat and the festive cantina Yolos provides a modern tribute to Mexican culture. And not to forget, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has created Gordon Ramsay BurGR – a burger joint that takes the traditional burger to a new level... a Vegas level!Planet Hollywood's Strip entrances are eye-catching with escalators and stairs leading people off the Strip and into the property and there is also a clear entrance to the attached Miracle Mile Shops, which is owned separately from the hotel. Home to more than 170 stores and 15 restaurants shoppers are sure to find something for every discerning taste. However, for those looking to stay on the Planet Hollywood property, there are a lot of other entertainment opportunities within the resort. As expected in Hollywood, Planet Hollywood is packed with mega entertainment including pop icon Britney Spears, who is starring in "Britney: Piece of Me." Staged in The Axis, a state-of-the-art theater, this is one of the largest indoor immersive productions in the world. Additionally the hilarious ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his troupe of witty sidekicks are headlining Dunham’s latest show, “Not Playing with a Full Deck” in the PH Showroom.Center stage in the casino of Planet Hollywood is a circular hot spot called the Heart Bar, a place to hang out with the beautiful people while sipping on drinks served by cocktail waitresses in black leather go-go attire. Guests can grab their 15 minutes of fame at the Extra Lounge, the new Las Vegas headquarters for the correspondents and crew of television's "Extra;” Located near the hotel's front entrance, this 24-hour bar is the perfect spot to see who's coming and going. For a tranquil retreat from the flurry of shoppers, concert goers and gamblers, the Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara offers relaxing body therapies from around the world, as well as saunas and steam rooms for your therapeutic pleasure. And for a little sun therapy, the seasonal Pleasure Pool is the place to be. With celebrity-quality treatments and superior services, the spa will truly leave you feeling like a movie star.
