A patterned glass facade and a unique crescent shape help set CityCenter's Vdara Hotel & Spa apart from other properties on the Las Vegas Strip. The 57-story, all-suite hotel adds a sophisticated, international flair to the 67-acre CityCenter. Designed by world-renowned RV Architecture, the non-smoking, non-gaming boutique hotel and spa offers an exclusive environment with modern amenities and services. Guests feel removed from, yet close to the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Pieces from CityCenter's fine art collection are showcased throughout, including Frank Stella's 32-foot-long "Damascus Gate Variation I" at the reception desk and Peter Wegner's wall pieces "Day for Night, Night for Day" in Vdara's concierge lobby. Vdara's porte-cochère offers an unparalleled view of Nancy Rubins' 57-foot-wide by 75-foot-long large-scale installation "Big Edge."Sitting atop the porte-cochère, the 40,000-square-foot Sky Pool & Lounge overlooks CityCenter and the Strip. Complete with spa and six cabanas and semi-private plunge pools, the deck area is great for relaxation as well as pool parties.With a LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, Vdara demonstrates its commitment to sustainability with initiatives such as coated windows to reflect light and reduce heat transfer into the building. The suite in general was very comfortable and large enough. Water pressure in the shower was not the greatest (we did not ask about getting this fixed, however). My wife had a little trouble with check-in, since the reservation was booked on my corporate credit card. They ultimately worked things out with us. Customer service was cordial and efficient, but not quite at the level we have experienced at The Venetian in the past. We would definitely consider Vdara for future trips to Vegas, especially for longer stays or with our children, where the kitchenette would get some use. Vdara of course does not have a casino, but very easy access to Bellagio and Aria. The non-smoking feature is wonderful! Gave the pool a good rating but did not use since it is not open in January.
