If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino. Right now, it's in the final phases of exterior and interior refurbishment to modernize property. Newly completed elements include the renovated porte cochere, lobby, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also now connected to The Linq, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has also debuted -- with three bars, a beer garden, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables. Renovations at The Quad are continuing in the middle section of the casino floor, the spa and at the pool. The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- including Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Bellagio, The Venetian and The Palazzo. The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort. The amenities are spread throughout the first five floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. It tends to be crowded around the clock. One of focal points in the casino is the Dealertainers pit. You can sit down at blackjack tables where celebrity impersonators dressed as Beyoncé, Elvis, Pink and many more deal the cards. Often, they have to excuse themselves to belt out one of their character's hits from the elevated stage.Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or delight in the drumming mayhem of Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to car parts and even their bodies. The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst bar. Or for a sophisticated aperitif head to the fifth floor's Nomiya Lounge. If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.?The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine is offered in the shack-style Quesadilla. The resort has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions. Or enjoy a quick bite at the 24-hour Ginseng 3, which features Japanese, Chinese and Korean items.Watch the big games on one of the 12 large screens in the spacious sports book on the third floor. Horse racing fans will be impressed by the stadium-style seating, complete with 230 individual monitors.Work up a sweat in the fitness center. You can get a manicure in The Salon at The Quad (the spa is currently closed for renovation).Clean and comfortable, The Quad's towers feature a variety of accommodations ranging from classic rooms with all the basics to deluxe "luv tub" rooms that have spa tubs thrown into the mix. Plus, pet-loving guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends (weighing less than 50 pounds) to lodge in the special PetStay rooms. For those wanting to tie the knot, the Silver Sky Chapel features two fine venues: the signature Skyline Chapel and the Southwestern Chapel with a desert motif. The resort has a stretch of souvenir stores located near the room elevators as well. Shops include Amparo, Whiskey Run, Gifts to Go and Relaxation Palace. The Quad is a full-service resort offering value-oriented accommodations. Whether you are coming to party with a group of friends, bringing your family for a vacation or attending a conference, the hotel is sure to suit you.-- By Renée LiButtiNOTE: Due to construction at The Quad, guests may may encounter temporary inconveniences, construction walls and some noise during daytime hours. The Quad's spa and pool are currently closed for remodeling. Guests can use the Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas or the pools at Paris Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Not what I expected

I walked into this hotel with a mindset that it would be a 3 star hotel (lacking in some areas but overall not that bad) but I was very wrong. I would give this hotel 2 stars - one for the customer service and one for the location.
Pros:
The entryway to the hotel is actually nice. It is very decieving from what the everything else looks like
The staff member that checked us in was really nice and attentive
Cons:
check-in is in the casino so the whole time I was checking it, I felt like I was going to die of second hand smoke (a little dramatic but yes it was that bad).
Finding this place was very hard. If you are coming from the strip way (Las Vegas Blvd) its an immediate turn that I passed up once because the sign is so small. If you are coming from the back way - it is very conjested and a little confusing (especially in the parking garage)
The interior is a mess. The walls are cracked. The elevators are small and slow and dirty. There is a weird smell walking through the halls. I felt liek I was going to catch something by just being there.
The rooms are pretty average size although very outdated. The "balcony" I thought was going to be a perk but it just a dirty small balcony that overlooked an even dirtier pool and courtyard area.
Overall, I would never stay here again. I ended up not sleeping there and just leaving the room to my mom and her boyfriend because it didnt feel clean.
If you are looking for a cheap hotel that is on the strip then stay here - but dont expect anything grand.
