The Quad Resort & Casino is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino. All of the rooms as well as the pool deck, spa and retail area are being renovated. Construction has already begun. The name change will be official on Oct. 30, 2014, with construction due to be completed by spring 2015. The resort will remain open throughout construction. If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino. Much of The Quad's interior and exterior have been refurbished. Among the new elements are a renovated porte cochere, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also connected to The LINQ, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has debuted as well -- with three bars, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables. Caesars Entertainment has announced that The Quad will be rebranded as The LINQ Hotel & Casino on Oct. 30, 2014. As part of a $223 million renovation project, the property's 2,256 rooms and suites will be remodeled to feature contemporary decor elements as well as pillow-top mattresses, 47-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations with speakers and rain shower heads. In addition, a new pool area (featuring both a standard hotel pool and a dayclub experience), a new lobby bar, a new spa and fitness center, and the new Vortex Roof Deck, are under construction and will debut in spring 2015.The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- including Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Flamingo, Bally's and Harrah's.The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort. The amenities are spread throughout several floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. It tends to be crowded around the clock. One of focal points in the casino is the Dealertainers pit. You can sit down at blackjack tables where celebrity impersonators dressed as Beyoncé, Elvis, Pink and many more deal the cards. Often, they have to excuse themselves to belt out one of their character's hits from the elevated stage.Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to ladders and power tools, also perform in a rock 'n' roll-oriented production in the evening. The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst Bar. TAG Lounge & Bar also offers more than 300 bottled, can and large-format brews from the U.S. and around the world -- you can even serve yourself at pour-your-own-draft tables. If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.?The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine along with an array of margaritas and a mechanical bull are offered at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at the south end of the property. The Quad also boasts has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions. Watch the big games on one of the 12 large screens in the spacious sports book on the third floor. Horse racing fans will be impressed by the stadium-style seating, complete with 230 individual monitors.Work up a sweat in the fitness center. You can get a manicure in The Salon at The Quad, but the spa is currently closed for renovation.Clean and comfortable, The Quad's towers feature a variety of accommodations ranging from classic rooms with all the basics to deluxe "luv tub" rooms that have spa tubs thrown into the mix. Plus, pet-loving guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends (weighing less than 50 pounds) to lodge in the special PetStay rooms. For those wanting to tie the knot, the Silver Sky Chapel features two fine venues: the signature Skyline Chapel and the Southwestern Chapel with a desert motif. The resort has a stretch of souvenir stores located near the room elevators as well. Shops include Amparo, Whiskey Run, Gifts to Go and Relaxation Palace. The Quad is a resort offering value-oriented accommodations. Whether you are coming to party with a group of friends, bringing your family for a vacation or attending a conference, the hotel is sure to suit you.-- By Renée LiButtiNOTE: Due to construction at The Quad, as it is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino, guests may may encounter temporary inconveniences, construction walls and some noise during daytime hours. The Quad's spa and pool are currently closed for remodeling. Guests can use the Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas or the pools at Paris Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Who's kidding who? If given the choice, everyone would go to le vrai (the real) Paris. No question about it. But if you can't make it to Paris, then Paris Las Vegas is the next best thing. This hotel located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip really does feel like the iconic city because so many elements of French architecture and attitude have been seamlessly integrated here. Opened in 1999, there are replicas of the Arc de Triomphe, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and La Fontaine des Mers at the Place de la Concorde. You can even ride a glass elevator -- after crossing Le Pont Alexandre III, a reproduction of one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris -- to the top of a half-scale duplicate of the Eiffel Tower, which boasts spectacular views of the Fountains of Bellagio the Strip and the outlying city.Three of the massive legs of the Eiffel Tower actually sit inside the resort. This creates the feeling of being outdoors in a park-like setting, which is enhanced by the blue sky-simulated ceiling, lampposts, lifelike leafy trees, breathtaking fountains and cobblestone walkways. Gaming occurs in the center of a picturesque casino floor under lattice-work soffits. All around the periphery are façades that bring to life villages from the different provinces of France. It's very enchanting -- and it feels worlds away from Las Vegas.Entertainment at Paris Las Vegas is also très enchanting. The resort draws together headliners, cultural programs and even Parisian-style performers. In Le Théâtre des Arts is the beloved Tony award-winning musical "Jersey Boys." Hypnotist Anthony Cools currently hosts an adults-only show during which audience members are invited onstage and then do unexpected things at his command (usually of an embarrassing and inappropriate nature).Like the city it's inspired by, the nightlife at Paris Las Vegas never stops. Chateau Nightclub includes a stunning interior complete with a vaulted ceiling, ornate chandeliers, sleek furnishings and rich fabrics as well as The Terrace overlooking the action on the Strip. World-class musicians regularly take the stage at Napoleon's, a dimly lit lounge that also serves more than 100 labels of champagne. Le Cabaret Lounge hosts traditional cabaret evenings along with bands singing your favorite standards and pop songs in English and sometimes French. In addition, guests of Paris Las Vegas can feed their inner Francophile by enjoying the resort's many gastronomic French connections. Mon Ami Gabi is a chic bar and brasserie featuring sophisticated bistro fare such as warm brie cheese, escargots, onion soup au gratin, crêpes and quiches – not to mention the extraordinary steak frites. This restaurant was the first to initiate outdoor patio dining on the Strip. The the quick-tempered star of "Hell's Kitchen" opened Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas. Chef J. Joho presides over the elegant Eiffel Tower Restaurant, situated 11 stories above the Strip. This is definitely among the most romantic places in Las Vegas and the food – especially the lamb and foie gras – are sure to steal your heart. Le Burger Brasserie puts a French twist on an American food classic. The restaurant's signature dish is the $777 kobe beef and Maine lobster burger. And the Sugar Factory, a sweets lover's paradise, offers excellent people watching on Las Vegas Boulevard.Paris Las Vegas' casual dining options are just as remarkable in character. Le Village Buffet channels the finest of the country's fare with six stations all themed for different regions in France. Le Café Île St. Louis offers sidewalk-style seating along with an intimate dining room and a menu full of French classics. Sweet and savory crêpes are served in the charming La Crêperie, while the cozy French bakery JJ's Boulangerie prepares artisan breads, pastries, tarts and more.Walk-up food windows are also interspersed between the eclectic collection of shops along Le Boulevard. There is a wine store, an accessories boutique and a children's shop with the beloved books about Madeline and Eloise, along with plenty of outlets carrying unique souvenirs.Paris Las Vegas guests can also indulge in exotic pampering treatments -- such as Balinese massages and body polishes -- at the Paris Spa by Mandara. It includes a state-of-the-art fitness center as well as a relaxation lounge, sauna and steam room. The two-acre rooftop pool is another stunning facility with an outdoor café (du Parc) and luxurious private cabanas.Paris Las Vegas is connected to Bally's through Le Boulevard. Complimentary shuttle service to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is also available. For anyone who has a longstanding love affair with all things French, Paris Las Vegas is à ne pas manquer -- not to be missed!-- By Renée LiButti
