Prominently positioned just west of Las Vegas Boulevard, this multi-colored beacon of a hotel is a close neighbor to all of the action on the Strip making it easy for guests to venture around Sin City, but from the wide variety of shows, bars and restaurants located within the hotel, you could easily find yourself staying on the property.Seamlessly integrating its Brazilian inspiration into every element of the hotel, the lively aesthetic of the brightly colored carpeting, signage and décor of the Rio will make it seem as if you've arrived in the middle Carnival season. And adding to the energetic environment is when the crowds amass for the prestigious World Series of Poker held every summer. If you're not here during poker's premiere event you can still enjoy gambling as the Rio has a sprawling casino floor with 1,200 slot machines and 80 different table games.Drawing in crowds year-round are the hotel's buffets -- The Carnival World Buffet and the Village Seafood Buffet. Off the two, the Village Seafood Buffet earns the greatest amount of praise. Just imagine loading your plate with unlimited lobster, crab legs, shrimp, sushi and other swimming selections, eating it all… and then doing it again. Drooling? That can become a reality. Both of these buffets are usually packed with patrons, so be prepared to wait, especially during any holiday weekend. If you are not hungry enough to attempt fitting the contents of the ocean into your belly but hungry enough to think about it, then we are sure that you will find a non-buffet restaurant to suit your needs with the selection that the Rio has to offer. Among the restaurants are Martorano's by the tough, tattooed Philadelphia chef Steve Martorano is a sure bet where rich, Italian-American favorites are served in excess; the All-American Bar & Grille where they are known for their dry-aged Angus beef; Pho Da Nang with exceptionally authentic Vietnamese cuisine; Buzio's Seafood Restaurant known for their fresh oysters; and there is the one-of-a-kind dim sum menu at KJ Dim Sum & Seafood Chinese Restaurant. For quicker bites, Hash House A Go Go has creatively prepared, oversized portions -- which include everything from breakfast and brunch to dinner items or you can grab a meal at the BK Whopper Bar or the Sports Deli, which situated near the six giant screens in the busy race and sports book.If you are looking to transform your dining experience into your nightlife experience, we know you'll love the succulent steak and one of the most striking views of Las Vegas at VooDoo Steak and Rooftop Nightclub, situated on the 50th and 51st floors of the resort's Masquerade Tower. And while you're up there, go ahead and check out the thrilling VooDoo Zip Line – a zip line ride, where guests soar more than 800 feet from the VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub in the hotel's Masquerade Tower to the Ipanema Tower. The 70-second journey boasts stunning 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip and adds an element of daring excitement to any occasion.Whether or not you opt for a ride between the towers, you can either stay and party at the rooftop club until the Strip's neon tubes flicker off with the rise of the morning sun, or you could slip off and catch one of the hotel's in house shows. Penn & Teller, the quirky magic duo, have their own theater at the Rio, as do the hunky and ever-famed Chippendales dancers. The Crown Theater hosts an array of acts including comedian Eddie Griffin and there is the seductive topless revue "X Rocks," which showcases sexy dancers and steamy choreography to the soundtrack of heart-pounding rock songs. And when you get thirsty from all that you've done or from thinking about all that you're about to do, swing by the sexy Flirt Lounge in the lobby of the Chippendales Theatre or the high-tech I-Bar, where you can order drinks from a touch-screen computer built into your tabletop.Since this is Vegas, we know that there is a good chance that you will not be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed the morning (or afternoon) after a night out on the town. The best detox is to re-tox (well at least we think so). So grab a cold one and soak up the sun with an afternoon at the hotel's indulgent pool complex. With golden sand and cascading waterfalls, this complex inspired by the Brazilian paradise is a necessity. If sun and fun is not how you like to recover, opt instead for a day of pampering at the Rio Spa & Salon. Shops are found throughout the property including The Wine Cellar & Tasting Room, Fashion 101 and the Harley-Davidson store, shoppers can get their fix of retail therapy on the property, however, the resort provides shuttle service to and from Harrah's for those who want to venture out onto the Strip as well.

Was a really neat place
PostedMay 9, 2013
Overall was very happy with our stay. Nice big room and plenty of food choices to eat at.
As of march 2013 they now charge an 18.00 + tax resort fee. But they dont tell you about it until your checking out and hit you with it then. Its not that they now charge a resort fee, it was how they did it. Anywhere else we've stayed, they charged it at check in.
Other than that, we had a great stay.

 The Quad Resort & Casino
The Quad Resort & Casino
The Quad Resort & Casino is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino. All of the rooms as well as the pool deck, spa and retail area are being renovated. Construction has already begun. The name change will be official on Oct. 30, 2014, with construction due to be completed by spring 2015. The resort will remain open throughout construction. If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino. Much of The Quad's interior and exterior have been refurbished. Among the new elements are a renovated porte cochere, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also connected to The LINQ, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has debuted as well -- with three bars, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables. Caesars Entertainment has announced that The Quad will be rebranded as The LINQ Hotel & Casino on Oct. 30, 2014. As part of a $223 million renovation project, the property's 2,256 rooms and suites will be remodeled to feature contemporary decor elements as well as pillow-top mattresses, 47-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations with speakers and rain shower heads. In addition, a new pool area (featuring both a standard hotel pool and a dayclub experience), a new lobby bar, a new spa and fitness center, and the new Vortex Roof Deck, are under construction and will debut in spring 2015.The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- including Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Flamingo, Bally's and Harrah's.The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort. The amenities are spread throughout several floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. In addition to traditional table games and slots, you'll find a state-of-the-art race and sports book and a five-table poker room. The casino tends to be crowded around the clock. The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst Bar. TAG Lounge & Bar also offers more than 300 bottled, can and large-format brews from the U.S. and around the world -- you can even serve yourself at pour-your-own-draft tables. Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to ladders and power tools, also perform in a rock 'n' roll-oriented production in the evening. If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.?The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine along with an array of margaritas and a mechanical bull are offered at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at the south end of the property. The Quad also boasts has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions. Work up a sweat in the fitness center. You can get a manicure in The Salon at The Quad, but the spa is currently closed for renovation.Clean and comfortable, The Quad's towers feature a variety of accommodations ranging from classic rooms with all the basics to deluxe "luv tub" rooms that have spa tubs thrown into the mix. Plus, pet-loving guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends (weighing less than 50 pounds) to lodge in the special PetStay rooms. For those wanting to tie the knot, the Silver Sky Chapel features two fine venues: the signature Skyline Chapel and the Southwestern Chapel with a desert motif. The Quad is a resort offering value-oriented accommodations. Whether you are coming to party with a group of friends, bringing your family for a vacation or attending a conference, the hotel is sure to suit you.-- By Renée LiButtiNOTE: Due to construction at The Quad, as it is being transformed into The LINQ Hotel & Casino, guests may may encounter temporary inconveniences, construction walls and some noise during daytime hours. The Quad's spa and pool are currently closed for remodeling. Guests can use the Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas or the pools at Paris Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Great Value

We got in the the recent double love tub room offer. Our check in was fast and easy and the counter person we dealt with was friendly and informative. Being card holders for the location we didnt have to pay the early check in fee. The person that checked us in knew his job and was very attentive to us. He was able to place us in a room farthest from the reconstuction of the casino going on. Our room was clean and pleasant. Its showing its age , but then thats why they are remodeling. All in all we had a great time and a lot of fun. Hope to stay in a "double love tub" room again when we visit vegas again. Looking forward to seeing how the facility looks after it debuts as the "The Quad".
